Appearance - Pours a clear, dark copper color with a half inch thick head that dissipates after a minute. Leaves behind a nice creamy lacing.
Smell - The aroma is not very strong.. All I detect is malts with a slight buttery character.
Taste - Sweet and very malty with a strong flavor of caramel. Has feint hints of floral hops and citrus as well.. Almost no bitterness is detected.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
Overall - Honestly, this beer is delicious. But it tastes nothing like a pale ale to me. I think the strong caramel flavor masks the pale ale characteristics of the beer. In my opinion it is similar to a brown ale.
