Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a standard pint.

A: Medium brown. Pours a slight, bubbly, white head, which disintegrates immediately and completely. No lacing.

S: Pungent, woody malt. Pecan shells, with a hint of oregano.

T: Rich, pungent, woody malt with a slight tinge of butterscotch.

M: Full flavored and (kind of) robust with a blunt hoppy character.

D: Robust enough sip down a little more carefully.

Atmosphere is okay. Nice hue, but no head or lacing. Nose is full and robust with a woody and Italian spice character. Flavor is robust and malty with a pungent aftertaste. Overall, this is pretty good quaff.

Blue Moon Pale Ale has a pretty thick, off-white head and a clear, amber appearance with lots of streaming bubbles, but not a lot of lacing. The aroma is sweet and similar to brown bread. Taste is likewise sweet, malty, brown bread, caramel, and a very light hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is mostly watery, and Blue Moon Pale Moon finishes fairly dry and quite drinkable. Overall, this is a very good beer, and I recommend it.

Pours a translucent copper color with a moderate off-white head that dissipates in short order. The aroma is mild and unimpressive. The first sip was actually not bad, yielding a mild, somewhat wheaty flavor with a hint of orange. The honeymoon ends there though, with subsequent sips unmasking a mishmash of dilute wheat and nickel (I don't supposed I've ever actually tasted nickel, but I expect it would taste an awful lot like this). A cheap, wheaty fog lingers in the back of the throat for way too long, and further imbibing offers little relief. The label touts cascade hops, though their presence is subtle and used to ill effect. I wasn't expecting a whole lot out of this brew, but this manages to fall short of even my paltry expectations.

From the summer variety pack. Pours clear copper with one finger of white head. Some minor lacing. Smell is floral and citrus. Taste is sweet tangy malts , tart yeastiness, and minor citrus hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium with perfect carbonation. Finishes medium dry. Good emulation of the style. Nice introduction to Belgian Pale Ale from an American perspective.

poured from bottle into pint glass
a - clear ambery colour, small white head that stays for a bit, but not long
s - pretty bland, mild citrus notes fight through the blandness
t - not bad, pretty bland like the nose, but some orangey citrus fights through,
m - not too thin, not especially creamy either, but not bad
o - not a great beer, not a bad beer, considering i spent a dollar a bottle, much better than i expected
