This beer was served out of a 12oz. bottle dispensed into a glass....
Presentation - Blue Moon always has some very nice label artwork and this one is no exception. Has a very winter evening feel.
Appearance - This beer is very dark, deep, rich amber in appearance with a off white to very light tan head.
Smell - Right off the bat you can smell the blend of malts in this beer...There is a hit of a hoppy aroma but not much.
Taste - The malt taste is also very strong in this offering. This is a sweeter tasting beer as it does not have a very strong bitter taste to it. Strong hints of caremel, toffee, and most likely dark brown sugar are very prevalent.
Mouthfeel - Light and smooth in the mouth. This beer is lightly carbonated which I think adds to its light and smooth feel.
Drinkability - A very drinkable beer that is smooth going down and not very filling.
Overall I enjoyed this beer but it was nothing spectacular. I was expecting it to be thicker and more filling after I read the description on the bottle, however I was pleasently surprised by the light and smooth feel. Would not be my 1st choice for a winter beer but def not my last either.(Note: 2010 Edition)
