look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

A - dark golden yellow; soft, white head; quickly fades to a thin lacing

S - grainy, a hint of metal

T - grainy up front with an odd finish that offers a flash of citrus that disappears as fast as it comes on; a hint of apples; very faint grass

M - light bodied, smooth, a bit crisp

This is a rather poor offering from the Blue Moon line. It's one dimensional and offers little besides grains. Avoid.

The beer poured with a thick 3/4 inch head but settled to a thin head moments later. Left moderate lacing through out the drink. The beer has a classic golden hue.

The smell is average. A hint of wheat but a little skunky too. There is nothing else there...no balancing sweetness or opposing citrus.

The flavor is okay, better than the smell but nothing to make me want to buy more. I taste the wheat base, there is very little malt flavor...in fact, there is almost no other flavor! But the wheat flavor is mild and finishes softly.

The mouthfeel is fine, not too carbonated and not too thick or thin, right down the middle.

Overall this beer is average to me. The smell and taste are not memorable, the beer is not that strong (5.4%) but I think it is smooth finishing and has some flavor to it. Would not recommend on a night out with friends but I am not going to thrown it under the bus driver from New Jersey either...

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Beer is a kind-of off-putting dingy light orange color. The label refers to this as "blonde." I strongly disagree. Head is thin and completely non-sticking, fades down to absolute nothingness. Very minimal carbonation in the glass. Below average; why? Blue Moon is not known for sub-standard beer (they're more known for "standard" beer).

Smell: Kind of like carved pumpkins left on the porch for a couple days...not completely rotten (you can tell it "used" to smell okay) but definitely not appetizing. Just a touch of citrus with a lot of not-so-freshly-cut grass and a pinch of poor alcohol. Also sub-standard.

Taste: Well, here's the redemption...not paid in full, but we're getting there. Beer goes in nice and smoothly with a light lemony zest flavor. After a moment, it becomes moderately carbonated and releases some bitter hop flavor (slightly above average). The aftertaste is very much like cud, but not in a bad way, if that makes sense.

Mouthfeel: See "Taste".

Overall: Disappointing, considering the brewery...but not terrible.

Another beer that ended up in my refrigerator because someone brought it over thinking that "I like craft beer, here's Blue Moon." Pretty much what I expected, but there was actually an interesting aroma that was a little better than what I was ready for.

Color is a pale straw. Carbonation is very effervescent and actually quote refreshing looking.

Aroma, as mentioned was surprisingly more complex than I would have expected.

Flavor was somewhat uninteresting and bland.

Overall I would not recommend buying this beer but if you find it in you refridgerator not a bad offering.

Disclaimer: I'm reviewing this as a Spring seasonal brew and wheat beer.

A: Poured from bottle into glass, about a finger and a half worth of head that quickly diminishes, leaving the golden/yellow brew behind.

S: I get floral notes, and some biscuit hints, over all not a whole lot going on in this department, but to me its good for a wheat ale.

T: I gotta go against the popular opinion here, I actually like the taste of this for a spring time/summer time ale, It's malty and slightly sweet upfront with biscuit notes in the middle that finishes with hints of lemon and orange. Exactly what I had expected from this beer.

M: Weakest spot of the brew, thin and light "beer"ish in my opinion

O: It's an in-between brew, that doesn't try to be what it isn't. It's a spring time wheat ale and nothing more, while I feel that Sam Adams White ale is a better brew for the style, this one isn't too bad. It's a brew that true beer lovers would drink at a grill out and one that light "beer" drinkers wouldn't turn down.

Appearance: Basically a lighter version of Blue Moon Belgian White.

Smell: Definitely some cloves, but more lemony than regular Blue Moon. Some faint hops as well. Not an overwhelming smell, but refreshing. Kind of soapy.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Maybe a bit too bitter for my taste. Mostly lemon with a floral aftertaste that's not my favorite. A bit too artificial. However there is a candied flavor that I like. Everything balances out to a solid flavor combination, but not amazing. Mouthfeel is a bit flat, but the crispness is nice.

Drinkability: The flavor is the main component that stands out and gives this its drinkability:

Overall: Hit or miss.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a standard pint.

A: Golden hue, decent amount of carbonation clings to the sides of the glass and metriculates to the surface. Pours about a quarter finger, bubbly, white head which dissipates completely pretty quickly. No lacing to speak of.

S: A little grain and a little lime citrus.

T: Bready grain, lime, and just a slight sweet hint of honey and orange.

M: Light body, refreshing quality. Kind of steely finish.

D: Power drink.

Atmosphere is okay. Appearance is not much to speak of. Nose is not bad...grain and lime. Flavor is a fair combination of grain, citrus, and sweetness. Overall, this is a decent quaff.

Poured from a bottle into a weizen glass.

A - Very clear gold, with a fizzy two-finger white head with next to zero retention. Mere specks for lacing. For a wheat beer, I did expect a thicker head.

S - Clean mild aroma of wheat and a little tangerine. Mild, but doesn't smell bad at all.

T - Taste matches the nose, with the wheat malt clearly leading the show here, lending a multi-grain bread flavor. Fruitiness becomes much more generic than in the nose, tasting reminiscent of orange scented wood polish. Hops don't really balance the wheat as well as they should, but they do add just a hint of spice. Hint of adjunct dextrins, but not overwhelmingly so. Overall flavor profile is clean and mild.

M - Things improve here, as the flavor profile would have you expect lots of water...instead you have a pretty full bodied beer for the style. Prickly carbonation. Finishes very "wet", with a mouth-coating finish.

O - I'm not exactly sure why the other reviews slam this beer THAT badly. It's a little bland and certainly nothing to write home about, but it's not really terrible either. Am I buying it again? No. But I wouldn't turn down a free one if someone offered.

Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale has a very thick, fluffy, slightly off-white head and a clear, yellow-golden appearance, with some bubbles and little-to-no lacing. The aroma is faint, but one can detect a touch of lemon zest and white bread. Taste is of white wheat bread, lemons, orange, and just a pin-prick of hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat soft, and Blue Moon Spring Blonde Wheat Ale finishes refreshing, tasty, and easy drinking. Although neither wheat or flavored beers are for me, I think this one is pretty good.

picked this up at a 7-11 today. BM was my first beer after 10 years of being devoutly straight edge, so it holds a special place in my heart...

A - same ol' same ol' bottle with slight adjustments. poured a massive, thick head that I was excited about, but dissipated somewhat quickly. leaves some lacing as you drink. color is pale crystal clear off-yellow, not exactly what I have in mind in Blue Moon, or a good wheat ale of any kind for that matter.

S - a sharp lemon juice tone is evident, almost like a bag of fruit chews. below it is a good warm wheat malt. orange flavor is hidden but singing backup

T - just as expected from the smell, warming wheat, citrus twinges, big wheat finish. a pretty good payoff for average initial impressions.

M - same as any Blue Moon, light, crisp, etc.

D - won't have too much trouble finishing a 6er, but won't be rushing out for another. I hope Coors is smart enough to produce this into the early summer where it belongs. until then you'd be better off with regular ol' Blue Moon

Not alot to say about it, it is what it is, has a slightly above average taste, smell is grainy. pours yellow, smells wheaty. Taste sort of seems like it attempts to get interesting but then it falls flat leaving more flavors of wheat and not enough of the more interesting notes that almost make it taste like a belgian blonde. It however is crisp which is good. It doesn't have alot though going for it to make it interesting, just a bit more good then bad though making it drinkable.

A - Pours a clear golden brown color with a half inch off white head, some bubbles coming up.

S - Smells of wheat, a little malt and the hints of lime.

T - Pretty good, wheat and a bit of malt go quite well with the bit of lime in the background. This is not a lime beer, but uses it subtley. Nice crisp ending.

M - Light body with medium carbonation. Very smooth and drinkable beer.

O - While this beer does lack flavor, the flavor it does has tastes good and accomplishes being a refreshing spring beer.

My brother-in-law came back with this from the store while we were visiting him. We were kind of weirded out to see a spring seasonal beer when it was snowing outside in January, but whatever. Here we go.

A: Pretty average for Blue Moon, yellow/gold with a small white head.

S: Very fruity, with a lot of lemon and hints of orange.

T: Almost tastes like normal Blue Moon. In fact, most of the beer was like a normal Blue Moon with subtle differences.

M: Typical Blue Moon.

D: Very drinkable, had 2 within 30 minutes and it didn't phase me at all.

This was okay. As with all Blue Moon products, they're what I go to when there's no really good microbrewery option available. Nothing too impressive, but not awful either. I'd call the beer average.

Thick white head and decent retention, minimal lacing. Crystal gold body. Extreme floral and grassy scent. Smells like the El Paso desert in the Spring, with a touch of womens perfume and soap. Sweet, hints of corn and hops. Extremely smooth mouthfeel. Goes right down without a trace. Not watery or full bodied, just a balanced mouthfeel that would go great with food pairings since it doesn't put a load on the palate. Depending on your mood, you might mistake it for bland. Floral, corny aftertaste, with crispness that eventually fades and lets the stickiness show. My main beef with this beer is that it's a called a wheat ale, but has none of the characteristics one would be hoping for when shopping for one.

This is a solid beer.

It pours a clear, golden yellow with an off-white head.

The smell is pleasant, citrusy, with a little wheat.

I detect mostly just light wheat, lemon peel, and carbonated water. And although it is simple, it's much more tasty, refreshing and pleasant than a regular Blue Moon.

I poured a bottle into a weizen glass.

Appearance- Clear golden color with a half fingers worth of rapidly disappearing head. Very little lacing.

Smell- Very mellow aroma of wheat and lemon.

Taste- Sweet malt flavor with a bit of lemony citrus and some spices.

Mouthfeel- Light bodied, smooth, and crisp. Decent amount of carbonation.

Overall- Not a bad brew, but I would prefer a regular Blue Moon over this.

Pours a translucent gold with a moderate head, tiny bits of lace.
Smell:The wheat malt is very up front with heavy citrus to follow. A little adjuncty but what else can you expect from Coors. Still, a pretty inviting smell.
Taste: Goddammit, I hate to say it... its not bad. Wheat malt with balanced citrus. Would be a better summer beer. Not complex, but decent.
Drink: I grew up in Colorado and admit to having peed in the tubing river that Coors uses for their beer. That said, I very much dislike the company, but thought that this was a very good session beer. Sorry for peeing in your river Coors...NOT.

Appearance: Clear semi deep gold
Aroma: Some banana esters with a wheat and hop bittering towards the end. Some citrus notes as well
Mouthfeel: light body
Overall: Great tasting spring ale. Very close to a summe beer because of how easy drinking it is. The little bit of flavor really makes this beer stand out.

Appearance - Pours a clear golden-straw color with an inch-thick creamy looking head that lingers for a good minute. Looks like it's highly carbonated. Has very nice lacing.

Smell - Pale malts, citrus, lemon, grains, wheat, and caramel.

Taste - Strong caramel flavor, very sweet, corn, wheat, malty, and a small bitter aftertaste. Has a slight orange flavor too, I don't really taste the lemon..

Mouthfeel - Light in body but becomes kind of creamy because it foams up in the mouth. Medium carbonation, very crisp.

Overall - I think this beer would be a lot better in the summer.. but I do enjoy it quite a bit.
