This is a solid beer.

It pours a clear, golden yellow with an off-white head.

The smell is pleasant, citrusy, with a little wheat.

I detect mostly just light wheat, lemon peel, and carbonated water. And although it is simple, it's much more tasty, refreshing and pleasant than a regular Blue Moon.

Poured from a 12-ounce twist-off into a pilsner glass.

A: Clear, pale golden yellow beneath a thin, crackling head of loose, bubbly carbonation. Head retention is okay and carbonation is fierce in this clean brew.

S: Squeeze lemon and orange rind mix with some metallic grains and a hint of forced, fake lime juice.

T: Light, grainy sweetness up front with a quick, sharp citrus bite imparting hints of lemon and lime zest. An acrid orange-peel flavor bunches up with very light, drying hops. Finish is light and watery with a trace of lemon and dry, metallic bitterness.

M: Extremely thin, light, crisp and watery. Not much in the malt bill on this brew, so its pretty seltzery.

O: Where's the wheat? A blonde ale, perhaps, and a poor one at that. Coors should have stuck with Rising Moon and maybe played with the malts or yeast a bit. This brew is practically a a Bud Light Lime in sheep's clothing.

look: 2.5 | smell: 2.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Appearance: Beer is a kind-of off-putting dingy light orange color. The label refers to this as "blonde." I strongly disagree. Head is thin and completely non-sticking, fades down to absolute nothingness. Very minimal carbonation in the glass. Below average; why? Blue Moon is not known for sub-standard beer (they're more known for "standard" beer).

Smell: Kind of like carved pumpkins left on the porch for a couple days...not completely rotten (you can tell it "used" to smell okay) but definitely not appetizing. Just a touch of citrus with a lot of not-so-freshly-cut grass and a pinch of poor alcohol. Also sub-standard.

Taste: Well, here's the redemption...not paid in full, but we're getting there. Beer goes in nice and smoothly with a light lemony zest flavor. After a moment, it becomes moderately carbonated and releases some bitter hop flavor (slightly above average). The aftertaste is very much like cud, but not in a bad way, if that makes sense.

Mouthfeel: See "Taste".

Overall: Disappointing, considering the brewery...but not terrible.

look: 3 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3

Appearance: Basically a lighter version of Blue Moon Belgian White.

Smell: Definitely some cloves, but more lemony than regular Blue Moon. Some faint hops as well. Not an overwhelming smell, but refreshing. Kind of soapy.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Maybe a bit too bitter for my taste. Mostly lemon with a floral aftertaste that's not my favorite. A bit too artificial. However there is a candied flavor that I like. Everything balances out to a solid flavor combination, but not amazing. Mouthfeel is a bit flat, but the crispness is nice.

Drinkability: The flavor is the main component that stands out and gives this its drinkability:

Overall: Hit or miss.

Disclaimer: I'm reviewing this as a Spring seasonal brew and wheat beer.

A: Poured from bottle into glass, about a finger and a half worth of head that quickly diminishes, leaving the golden/yellow brew behind.

S: I get floral notes, and some biscuit hints, over all not a whole lot going on in this department, but to me its good for a wheat ale.

T: I gotta go against the popular opinion here, I actually like the taste of this for a spring time/summer time ale, It's malty and slightly sweet upfront with biscuit notes in the middle that finishes with hints of lemon and orange. Exactly what I had expected from this beer.

M: Weakest spot of the brew, thin and light "beer"ish in my opinion

O: It's an in-between brew, that doesn't try to be what it isn't. It's a spring time wheat ale and nothing more, while I feel that Sam Adams White ale is a better brew for the style, this one isn't too bad. It's a brew that true beer lovers would drink at a grill out and one that light "beer" drinkers wouldn't turn down.

Bought this this morning when I came up empty in my small town looking for a hefeweizen.

Crystal clear, tight head settles to nothing, no lace. Citrus and light grain nose. Light crisp lemony taste, with a dry wheat finish. There's something else there I can't quite place, but it doesn't taste good. Thin and fizzy, almost a drain pour.

another leftover in the inlaws fridge that i grabbed when i ran out of what i brought. i will admit though i have had much, much worse. served cold and into a pint glass.

The pour was very nice, rich light amber in color with a good amount of cloudiness to it. Nice head of white on top reached a height of around two inches before settling back down with minimal fanfare and some nice side lacing. The aroma was bready, lots of light bread notes, hints of grain, a touch of some apricot like fruit notes perhaps. Super sweet and smooth, a rich concoction of bready notes, a light bittering hop note and a really nicely melded malt profile. Carbonation seemed spot on and the medium body was thick enough to let you get some flavor while not too heavy for the style.

Overall this was very solid. Not the best I have had but not something I would shy away from. Very nicely done.

I poured this into a pint glass, it has a clear yellow body to it with nothing of a head to it but a thin lace that you can barely see. The only thing i smell is a little bit of citrus and some hints of wheat. I get a sweet taste and citrus at the same time, on the back of the tongue is where the little bit of malt gets me. The mouth feel is ok. Overall not a good beer, but i would drink it over a BMC on a hot summer day.

16 ounce pint - $4.50 at Taco Mac in Canton, Georgia.

Appearance: Served up a clear, dark yellow body with a scant, white head. Okay.

Smell: Citrus flavoring additives layered over some mild malted wheat hints. Not much going on here.

Taste: Moderately sweet taste of pale and wheat malts flavored with citrus. Very, very vague notion of honey water. Hint of perceived acidity. Very low bitterness. More flavorings on the semi-dry finish. It has an unappealing taste that, after even the first sip, leaves the rest of the pint seeming like work to just fight through.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Not so good, really, and even a slight step down from the previous Rising Moon.

Pours a crystal-clear pale amber with a smallish head that doesn't linger. No lacing whatsoever.

Smell is virtually nonexistant... slight citrus, a little graininess, and that's about all I'm getting.

Taste pretty much follows the nose; a tad of citrus, and maybe just a tad of hops and malt, but almost like there's so little of each that they end up canceling each other out.

Mouthfeel is thin, but not as subpar as the smell and taste are.

I'll give it 3.0 overall, only because it's decently refreshing on a hot day (in the way a cold glass of water is), and there aren't any off or bad tastes. There's just barely any taste period!

A: Pale gold color. Poured a 2 finger white foamy head that fell quickly to a broken skim. Decanted continually. Minimal lacing.

S: Orange and lemon. Slightly sweet wheat malt. Very muted nose.

T: Citrus flavors consistent with the nose; though slightly sweet. Malt character very muted. finishes a little dry.

M: Light body. Moderate carbonation. A bit of a sweet, sticky feel. Little hop character (though ok for style).

O: Nothing flawed, but nothing really sets the beer apart.

Served from refrigerator temperature into goblet. Pours dark golden with small head which dissipates quickly. Flavor is of malt and some sort of hops which I can't identify. Flavor is of separate malt and hops which aren't really well mixed. Neither is initially overpowering, but it isn't a single package. After a while, though, the malt begins to dominate. Overall, this is a very generic beer- more flavourful then most mass-markets but you can do better.

Interesting looking beer here. The body looks nothing like a wheat ale, not cloudy at all, completely transparent, it looks like a lager, I doubt there is any wheat in here at all. The head on the other hand is really nice, frothy and about one finger in length, but of course it is almost gone now. The head is totally white and the body like I said looks like a lager, golden in color. The appearance overall is nothing impressive. On the smell you pretty much just get that generic beer smell, almost no other smells there at all. There is a small hint of lemon, but that's about it, no hops, small malt character, and no wheat. The smell is pretty freaking lame. Wow, that's not good, I wasn't expecting this beer to be this bad. Probably the most boring blue moon I've ever had, which is saying a lot. There really isn't anything to it, there is that small lemon flavor I picked up on the smell, and then that generic beer taste. There are basically no hops in here and very little malt. There is a slight slight feel of wheat, which just might keep the taste above a 2. Other than that there really isn't much to speak of. As for mouthfeel, it's ok because of that small amount of wheat, but pretty crappy overall. Drinkability is ok because it's so light, but still, nothing special there. It's only redeeming factor is the fact that it's refreshing, that's about it, other than that, not a good beer.

Had (NOT enjoyed) on-tap @ the Hardshell Cafe in Soulard- Downtown St. Louis. Beer was tapped from a Bright Green Handle w/ "Seasonal- Spring Ale" under the blue Moon sign & poured into a Pint Glass.

Appearance- Pale, Golden color with 1 finger of head. Huge bubbles of Carbonation and no retention on the head. Lace gradually smears down the sides of the glass.

Smell- You can smell signs of the yeast and grain but nothing else... There is an alcohol scent as well.

Taste- There is a bit of an orange/lemon twist to it now but not good for this type of style (I wish they did give me a lemon with this one to mask the flavor!)

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, Light Viscosity, Watery, and Dull. Nothing makes this beer anything special...

Overall- They really missed the mark on this one. It does have a strong wheat taste but it is going to be a struggle to finish even a pint of this. Blue Moon isn't a bad beer but anything they try to brew otherwise, Honey Moon, this Spring ale, etc. turns out very rough to drink and missing many qualities of making it a decent ale.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a wheat beer glass.

This? This is a wheat beer of some sort? There's nothing appearance-wise to seperate this from macro lager 52. Clear golden color, three fingers of white dense head that quickly fades, all that stuff. The aroma? Ugh. No. How does this smell so awful? It's basically just a super-cheap aroma. Hints of wheat, Pledge, and something that might have once passed for hops. The taste on this? Corn. Honey. Sticky-sweetness. It's passable, but just barely. I wouldn't really like another. The mouthfeel is thankfully thin, and the drinkability is alright. This is not a good beer. This is not a good beer at all. I'm fairly fond of the base Blue Moon, and Pale Moon is alright, but their seasonals aren't really all that great.

The beer poured with pretty much no head at all. It is a golden yellow and looks very uninspiring. Some fast moving carbonation bubbles running up the center of the glass. It smells faintly of wheat and a tiny bit of fruity sweetness.

The beer is slightly sweet and bready. The beer is very light bodied with a strong carbonation. It's not really a unique taste or extremely appealing.

Overall, this beer seems like just a bad version of blue moon to me. The taste is nothing you haven't tasted before, so therefore its not really a beer I would go out of my way to buy.

Poured a pale straw color with little head on it. Smell is faint wheat and malt. Taste is average - kinda weak. Not a lot of wheat taste. Tastes cheap. Very light bodied. Not a bad tasting beer just nothing to it. Not worth the price at all. I will not be buying this again.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

A: Nice light gold color. Decent sized head that dissipated quickly. Fair carbonation.

S: Very light smelling. Orange, lemon, hint of wheat.

T: Light tasting. Sweet citrus. Finishes dry. Pale wheat is hard to get right. Don't think this made the cut.

M: Light with a slightly sweet stickiness.

O: OK. Falls a bit short. Perhaps a nice beer when your hot and you want it to go down quick.

Pours to a thin white head (no retention) and golden color with filtered clarity. Aroma is wheat malt with none of the promised citrus to speak of. Flavor is clean, light and has a pleasant graininess with very little lemon or orange as promised. Light mouthfeel and generous CO2. Overall, a very bland, ordinary beer.

As far as weissbeirs go this is not anything special. The mouthfeel is reminiscent of PBR or MGD, not how a wheat beer should taste. The beer has little to no body to it. The only redeeming characteristic of this beer is the smell, of course that could just be the lemon I added to it to make it tolerable. Not as bad as a domestic lager, but not worth the price, considering that it goes for the same as a Sam Adams or equivalent microbrew.

I've seen this in stores, and being a huge fan of weissbiers, I had to give this thing a try. Idiots gave me a frozen glass that I had to warm up at the bar.

Appearance - Straw color, Light color for a wheat beer, even when compared to a Kristalweizen. 2 inch head that disappeared rather quickly.

Smell - Probably the best part of the beer. Smelled of a good wheat beer (clove, bready-wheat, banana, and sweetness). Halfway through the beer, I got this strange aroma that smelled of an astringent adujnct lager.

Taste - OK wow, not what I was expecting. After reading the label and smelling it, I was expecting a good wheat beer reminiscent of Franziskaner. But what I got was an astringent adjunct lager flavored beer. It took all I had to finish this thing. No hops present at all. Reminiscent of UFO Hefeweizen. Not good.

Mouthfeel - Once the initial flavors leave, a slightly sweet adjunct lager aftertaste lingers, that is preferable when compared to the likes of BMC beers. No real aftertaste to speak of.

This thing shouldn't carry the Blue Moon name. It should carry it's father's name (Coor's). This is what i pictured BL Wheat would taste like.

The beer is a nice gold while pouring. It's a gold that is on par with Coors main stream products and every bit as translucent. The head expands quickly and fades a little bit slower, but never completely. I could never seen down into the beer. It's also a thick and creamy head of foam as thick lacing rings got left behind.

The smell is sweet with citrus and banana. Wheat comes through big too. Hints of clove and hops at the end.

This beer is like an improved version of the original Blue Moon. The citrus and banana suggestions are there, as well as the warm-seasonal spices common of spring and summer beers, but this beer is oh so much cleaner than Blue Moon and therefore the mouthfeel and drinkability are much better. Smooth, not grainy. Sour though.

Decent, but I probably won't purchase again with the better Keweenaw Bay Pick Axe Blonde cheaper and brewed closer.

Bought this for my girlfriend when she asked me to pick her up some Blue Moon. I decided to give this a try and write up a review for it.

I've originally tasted the Rising Moon that was out before this and I thought that beer was pretty terrible from memory. This beer however... might even be worse, or the exact same beer for all I can really tell.

Pours a clear pale yellow color with almost no head to speak of.

Aroma is grainy, grassy, slightly wheaty and some odd citrus lemon/lime peel.

I know the previous Rising Moon was brewed with limes and this one is supposed to be orange and lemon but all I keep tasting is lime lime lime!!! There is a slight wheat and plastic aftertaste that just sticks in your mouth for too long. I suppose I wouldn't mind it but it's such a horrible taste. The only reason I'm giving it any points is because it at least tastes like something!

Light body and somewhat flat. Not at all crisp or refreshing or anything it aims to be. All around horrible.

Pale yellow, looks like a lager..with a large frothy white head.
Aroma? carboard like a cheap lager to be honest.
Taste thankfully is not cheap lager..but cheap watery wheat with a small tine of citric peel.
Palate is not as bad as expected..has some small amount of body.
Pretty bad really even for Coors.
