poured from the bottle into a Weizen glass

A - Pours a straw-gold capped by a one-finger astringent head. Streams of carbonation can be seen rising from the bottom of the glass. Head is gone half way down the glass.

S - Really not much upon opening the bottle save a little bit of wheat malt and tiny amount of orange peel. Smell becomes a bit more pronounced in the glass and open up a bit touches of honey love as promised.

T - Starts off fine with honey and wheat malt. In the body the honey really takes over and almost seem sickly sweet in contrast to the light hops and wheat backbone. This dichotomy grows as the beer passes over the back of the tongue and hop notes become more pronounced. Honey, orange rind and stale wheat malt finish.

M - On the heavier side of light bodied with substantial carbonation. Fizzy and slightly creamy as it passes over the back of the tongue, this is actually the best part of the beer by far.

It tastes about like they just poured Honey into the standard Blue moon. This ends of being more of a bad thing as the coriander is lost and replaced with sticky sweetness that almost seems out of place. The decent mouthfeel is the only redeeming quality of this beer, which I suspect will never purchase again unless it (again) finds its way into a variety pack on sale. Life is too short to drink mediocre beer.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Light clear golden color with a white head that lasted only a few seconds. No lacing left on the glass, and a lot of visable carbonation.

Smell: Grass grains and some sweetness.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Light bodied and smooth. Some mild bitterness and a slight honey after taste that did not last long.

Overall: Honestly, it taste like they took Coors Light and added honey to it. It is not a complex as other Blue Moons that Coors makes. It is enjoyable and I do like the Blue Moon and Coors beers, just seems like they really didn't put a lot of effort into this one.

I was expecting something like a Leinenkugel Summer Wheat but was hugely disappointed. All I could taste was honey and hops with no substantial wheat flavor. It was hard for me to finish it. The younger folk at the neighborhood party seems to enjoy it much more than I did.

A-Poured into a pint glass. Excellent active bubbles with a moderate white head that did not stick around long. clear light straw color
S-Not much going on here.
T-Just okay. A very little bit of honey at the very end and not sure it wasn't in my head because of the name. Crisp but still has some depth, enough to keep me interested.
M-Pleasant and good carbonation.

Nothing that makes me want to spend my summer drinking this beer. Better than a mainstream beer but not anything I would seek out.

How did this win a GABF gold medal, pale fizzy golden, bright white head, speckled scattered lace. Aroma has cooked veggies and other cereal grains, with a mild citrus and honey blend. Flavors are cloyingly sweet, who wants to drink something this sweet. Crushing flavor of grains, mild citrus, and sharp honey sweetness actually making me gag. Mouthfeel is sickeningly sweet, cloying light to medium bodied high carbonation, induces a gag reflux. Overall I can't finish this beer, why is it sold in 12 packs, good lord it's horrible.
