very disappointed with this beer. labeling was just a gimic. went on blue moon web site, and of course all they have is positive posts, and i could not even post my reveiw. one suprising fact is that they say one of there brewmasters was schooled in belgium. that has to be a lie.

Sampler bottle.

It pours a deep amber with a nice head of foam and very good lacing.

It smells malty, bready, with a light note of some hop citrus.

The taste is malty but not overly sweet, grainy-of bread, slightly nutty, almost no hop bitterness. Dull.

Not offensive but not something I'd turn to. I'm glad I paid 0$ for the bottle.

The beer pours an amber color with a white head. The aroma is grain, bread and a little bit of orange. The flavor is more of the same, with quite a bit of sweetness from the toffee and bread malt. There is a hint of orange, but basically this is just a beer full of grainy sweetness. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Certainly nothing special.

pours out perfect amber colour with a modest off white head leaving a little lace. aroma of lightly caramel tinged roasted malts and a touch of citrus. the flavour profile runs to the sweet side...fairly rich caramel maltiness...a little on the nutty side with hints of orange/citrus for a refreshing splash. decent enough for a blue moon offering. overall body is medium, with a lightly textured mouthfeel making for ease of drinkability.

overall about what one might expect from the blue moon line up. a fairly tasty beer with some residual sweetness and a quasi inspirational profile. oh well...sort of hit the spot after a hard day at work.

Blue Moon Valencia Amber Ale has a thick, light beige head and a somewhat hazy amber appearance with minimal lacing. The aroma is pronounced- sweet, brown bread and a touch of citrus. Taste is of sweet brown bread, caramel, some slight citrus, a touch of hop bitterness, and alcohol. There’s an underlying cloying sweetness to this, which evokes malt liquor. Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat fluffy, and Blue Moon Valencia Amber Ale finishes semi-dry and relatively easy drinking. Overall, this is a good and interesting beer.
