12oz brown bottle with a freshness date.

Decent head, decent lacing as well. Reddish amber hue shows a bit of clarity. Light breadiness, hint of tartness and a neutral nuttiness in the aroma ... expect a bit more. Nearly perfect smoothness, a tad creamy ... medium bodied. Maltiness is a bit thin, mild tartness reveals little and does not really go anywhere. Very modest hopping, grainy with a toasted character throughout. Finish semi-clean and dry with an almost steely after taste.

I expect a bit more from this beer ... not much but as usual this beer lands flat like the others from Blue Moon. Approachable to the masses which is what they are all about.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Reddish Brown with a thin off white head. A lot of carbonation.

Smell: Mild hops. But mostly grassy.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth light to medium bodied. Taste is watery with earthy grassy notes.

Overall: This one is ok. I won't be going out of my way to buy it.

I poured this from a bottle into a pint glass. The colors of the label along with the description really threw me off from what this beer actually is. With the red label and the word straw house, I thought that it would be fruity (bringing to mind strawberry), and being a "saison", I expected fruity esters at the very least. Of course, this is a coors product and not a true craft beer, so I cannot say that my dissapointment is not well deserved.

The head disappears quickly.

The smell is metallic and does not have much going on. It brings to mind rusty copper.

The taste is thin. I detect almost no hops. There is that metallic flavor again, and the grains were either cheap, stale, or paired with large amounts of corn syrup.

The mouthfeel is decent. Like the flavor it is thin, but it has a slight creamy characteristic.

Overall, I think that this beer would make a great new substitution for the current coors recipe, but as mixture of saison and flanders red, this beer falls way short of being even remotely close to either style.

Undated 12 oz bottle served in a pint glass.

Pours dark red-amber; clear with a fairly durable head.

Aroma is neutral rather than appealing, but then I am not a fan of most farmhouse ales.

Taste: an appealing fruity flavor with a sweet/tart balance leaning towards the tart side. Hints of strawberries. Tame and mild for style.

Medium body and medium-high carbonation.
