Light light yellow with white white head of bursting big bubbles without retention or stickyness. Lokks a little like pale ginger ale.
Smell is great - some corn-like sweetness with a very pleasing level of diacetyl, some leafy saaz and a hint of toasted grains.
Taste begins like water with grain flavoring but then the sweetness and butteriness quickly disappear leaving an astringent metallic sting. Medium harsh carbonation, sort of soda-like high frustose corn syrup feel.
Although I find the aroma to be quite pleasing, the taste ruins it. Not an enjoyable beer for me.

Smooth, clear, and lightly fruity when first hitting your tongue. Slightly smooth finish with an acidic, hoppy aftertaste. As this is a light beer (and a near-clear-beer) there's no spectrum of flavors in the palatte that one would normally expected from a full-bodied brew. It just slides into your mouth and fizzes a little before fading away.

- I first reviewed this beer 28JUN03, this post reflects notes in that review. -

Another quintessential American “light” beer. If I was blindfolded and I concentrated on my taste buds I’d be able to detect the stereotyped beer flavor-- but maybe my imagination might fill in the missing pieces.

A very very mild and shallow flavor- yes there’s a hint of malt and hops. Fizz. Coors doesn’t state the alcohol percentage. I suspect it’s quite light. I will say this-- on ice with some club soda or just soda water this “beer” will give a mild flavor-- something different to the conventional fruity flavored water.

oh the silver bullet. how i loathe your horrible commercials. i wouldnt touch you, but you came in a raiders can and i had to have you. pours bright pale yellow, smells like typical cheap beer, tastes metallic and slightly sweet with lots of carbonation. it is what it is, light cheap beer. im sure you didnt know that so consider yourself enlightened.

Presentation: 12oz. can.

Appearance: Pours a clear, golden hue with a small, snow-white head; not much in the way of head retention or lacing.

Aroma: Faintly of corn, cooked veegtables and grain.

Taste: Lightly sweet; firm notes of corn and grain; very little bitternish.

Notes: In terms of calories and price, what can be said? Poor, off-putting beer.

Perhaps one of the worst lite beers out there. Or one of the worst beers out there, period. In fact, calling this a "beer" is truly an insult to other beers.

Pale yellow color, like a steady urine stream at the end of a long drinking day. Watery taste and mouthfeel. Actually, it tastes more like beer-flavored water. This is surprising, because regular Coors, and the impressive Coors Extra Gold, are fairly decent beers to drink. That this one is so devoid of the taste and character of its bretheren is a mystery to me. Some PC whacko in Golden must be responsible for this crap.

If you like it, good for you. A body does need liquid refreshment. At times, this may even be cheaper than Evian to drink, I'm sure. But before I'll ever drink it again, you'll have to put a "silver bullet" in the back of my head... and then you would have to wedge my mouth open.

Very pale gold color, medium head. Aroma is very slight and kind of grainy. Very little malts, nearly no hops. Very light taste, nearly no taste at all. IS it really beer? Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean Aftertaste is nearly neutral. Is this even beer? More like a beer flavored water.

A stiff pour on this one produces a rapidly disintegrating head, very disappointing. The beer is perfectly clear with a very light golden color, perhaps a tad darker than Bud Light (see disclaimer at my review for that beer). The aroma has an almost metallic or earthy note - my best comparison is with a galvanized bucket my dad used to use to collect garden vegetables in. This aroma is VERY faint and almost indetectable, but there is not much else in there so it stands out. Flavor-wise, the beer is more balanced than the Bud Light, with a drier overall impression and less cloying sweetness, and perhaps a bit more hop bitterness (very very slight). There is also a slight astringency at the end of a sip. Relatively speaking this is a more complex (!) beer than the Bud light, but nevertheless the beer is still VERY bland. If I had to make a choice, I would take this over Bud Light hands down.

For the BJCP style American Light Lager - this is around the 4.2 / 5; its nice and dry, with a touch of hop bitterness as desired, but its hurt by the odd aroma.

Ahh, Coors light, one of the giant, colossal, endlessly promoted set of beers which seem to exist solely for football games. It's also one of the worst.

To its credit, this beer has an absolutely unique flavor to it. Specifically, it's a flavor not unlike a week old sandwich. Coors has managed to brew one of the few beers on the market that actually manages to taste exactly like fermented baked goods. Drowned in water.

Thank you, Coors light...for making Budweiser look almost drinkable in comparison!

The only thing more watery than this beer is Keystone Light. Lots of Rocky Mountain ice here. Not much else. Maybe a twinge a grainy dryness. If you need a thirst quencher here you go. And don't try to taste it. This is a good one for playing drinking games with!

This is not beer, this water and corn syrup with a light alcohol taste included. No aroma, no afertaste and hell, even no taste at all. This is the perfect beer for non-beer drinker. I blame this beer for making it hard to convince people to try to drink something different since this is so light and therefore every other beers seems "too strong".

A nice pillowy white head formed and actually lingered for a fair while. The colour was a pale lemon/gold, and it was absolutely clear. The carbonation looks nice.

On the nose, some slightly floral elements are apparent. I do find a tiny bit of sulfur, with some vegetable.

The flavour is fresh and clean. There is a light citrus in there, along with a bit of mild hops bitterness at the end. The tiniest hint of tropical is a bit out of place.

The mouthfeel is light but smooth, and refreshingly carbonated.

I can't believe it, but I actually like this beer. It must be my favourite of the big-name American macros. Wow. It's surprisingly drinkable.

This brew poured a small quickly disappearing head of fine white bubbles. It has a transparent weak urine yellow body. It has little to no aroma. Its flavor that is slightly hoppy with an initially fizzy mouthfeel that soon fades. The best thing about it is that you can get it anywhere.

Big billowy head - soon gone
Very atractive beads of carb
The beer is a pale yellow.
It seems that the appearance of most Macros are the best going for them...Well, that and consistancy. The rest is as follows.

Nose - flat
Taste - vacant
Mouthfeel - stingy
Drinkibility - dull

I could drink this all night. It tastes okay, it doesn't look good but the taste is okay. It is better than some light beers I have had. This is my second favorite light beer next to Sam Adams Light. It wasn't that watery. There may have been too much carbonation. A decent beer by Coors, I liked their Irish Red Better.

I've actually looked forward to this review. The years of offensive commercials and promotion of everything I think beer is not has irritated me to no end. Having said that...
It looks fine for style, so there isn't much to say. It's part of what makes a macro a macro. However, the head is very fizzy and recedes really quickly (down to nothing without ever taking a drink and in less than 1 minute). The aroma is alright, with a sweet malt character. The taste is really nothing, of course. Aspects of flavors. Mostly just a sense of dryness and bitterness. Flavor doesnt' match the aroma. Feel is watery.
' didn't hate this beer as much as I would have like, but there also "isn't any there there." Has a thirst quenching quality, but it's mostly made for quick drinking (and quick drinking youth on the prowl believing drinking this will somehow make a difference). Drink it fast before it turns nasty. I can imagine gatherings with lots and lots of half drank beers. Maybe that's how they sell so much.

Well, like most other reviews on this one, what is left to say? No serious beer drinker would even be looking at this review, so I am wasting my time reviewing it, actually. If you really want to know my feelings, if I could give a zero to this beer in the taste, mouthfeel and drinkablility fields, I would.... BLECH!

Just awful. One of those beers that deserve to only be drunk from cans, in order to protect innocent glassware. Mouthfeel like water. Very little taste. In short, the perfect beer for those who want to drink 12 odd beers during the course of the evening.

What more can you say about Coors Light other than it is one of the most bland, dull and boring beers ever made. Pale and bubbly like gingerale. No nose whatsoever....ok, maybe some corn and grainy notes. Taste is not only light and watery, it is also chalky and dry. The mouthfeel is bubbly and rough and the finish is dry.

This is a horrible beer. It is not even beer. Have it ice cold on a summer afternoon and it will go down like water. Less than a beer for the masses. A new low.

First of all, light beers are no good! Coors light has a decent flavor compared to Miller Light and Bud Light. It doesn't pour good and doesn't have a head. Ok, maybe for a few seconds. The taste is sweet, almost fruity, and the hops tickle the tongue. One of the few light beers I can sit and drink all night. Its not that great though, and their are many beers the same price as Coors Light that I could recommend.

This hyper-marketed beer poured a light, pale amber color with a small head. I blinked, and it disappeared. No lacing, and nothing remotely close to mentionable in the appearance. There was very little smell, just faint, stale whisps of malt and corn. The taste was grainy, somewhat sweer with light-corn features. Barely palatable. The seltzer-water mouthfeel was uminmpressive, although I suppose it felt interesting when I vigorously swished it in my mouth. Hey, I needed some entertainment while drinking this one. Overall, Coors Light is one of the worst beers I've had. It delivers a bit of alcohol quickly, and goes down painlessly, but these are its only qualities.

Coors Light is probably one of the best light beers around today. There is just something about the "Silver Bullet" that can't be beat by other light beers. Definitely prefer the bottle over the can, just a psychological thing I guess. Recommend Coors Light to anyone.

Uch. Canned Coors light, for some odd reasons, reminds me of creamed corn. Really pale colour. Clear sky yellow. Smelled of chemical water. Do they brew this at a nuclear plant? Tasted like watered down beer. Very watered down beer. As in one bottle Budweiser, 2 litres Aquafina. Very thin, paper thin mouthfeel. Weak. Yes, this could be highly drinkable, but why? Switch to something better or get water and mix some vodka in it if you want an alcoholic beverage. Or just drink water. Do not try.

This is quite possible the worst beer I have ever had the privelage to partake of. This was drunk straight from the can, to save myself from the apperance! This smells like water, with some bad beer falvoring added into the mix, and it tastes the same as it smells! In fact this tastes even worse in cans than it does in bottles! This has no mouthfeel, as it is pure water, and the drinkability is low beacuse it just tastes bad. Why Bother. Hey I am young, and I am in college, but still, just quit smoking, or buy less cds and get some GOOD BEER, don't make your body drink this god awful brew!!!!

OK. I figured I had to weigh in on behalf of the Canadians.

This has got to be the swillingest swill available in Canada. And I do not write these words lightly. In another review I mentioned the Canadian consumer show Marketplace's findings <http://www.cbc.ca/consumers/market/files/food/beer_challenge/triangle.html>. Suffice it so say, that I accept the place in this world of light-tasting, relatively low-alcohol, fizzy yet bland beers.

But *come on*! Who came up with the notion of a silver can containing some weird sort of corn-derived pale (and I mean pale) imitation of an imitation of beer?

For the record, in Canada, Coors Light (and I have to pause here and admit that for years I thought Coors -- before Coors "regular" became available [albeit briefly] in Canada -- had to be the coolest beer in the world purely on the basis of The Guess Who's classic tune "Coors on Sunday") is a light, very "corny" tasting, somewhat fizzy, *very* light looking (what's paler than light-yellow?) concoction that is no worse than something Canadians could have come up with on their own. Except we had help.

With all due respect to my American cousins (to whom we owe great cultural and historical debts), what's with the Silver Bullet? And can we lend you something equally noxious? Like maybe Molson's Canadian Light?
