Appetizer: spot on amber coloring, but smell slightly off (perhaps skunked, but in tasting, do not believe so); mild-mod foam

Entree: taste is uninspiring, with typical lager-esque feel; aftertaste dry and lingering which is more a detractor (to me) than the mouthful taste.

Dessert: cannot say anything commendable, but not as horrifically "poisonous" as overall review average denotes; believe people skewed by fact its Coors under a different label.

Third Shift Amber Lager brewed by Coors Brewing Company. This brew pours out a dark amber color with a small white head. I like the color of this brew- not too light, but not too dark. Third shift has a an abv of 5.3. The smell is rich and sweet. There is nothing bad about the smell of this brew. The taste is rich with a hit of sweetness but a bitterness at the end. For being a dark amber brew it is well balanced. No hard after taste at the end. This brew is not overpowering but not underpowering. Third Shift Amber goes down smooth with a little bit of bitterness at the end. Over all I'm giving this brew a 3.75 out of 5. It is not something I would drink everyday but I would get this brew again.

Third Shift Amber Lager from Coors Brewing Company is the second "plain ol' lager" I've experienced in the craft realm. Poured from the bottle into a glass, this brew is a rich amber. Mild carbonation&a white head that goes away quickly.

Smell is okay, nothing really there.

The initial taste for me was biscuits&malt with a caramel ,or perhaps even butterscotch. Very smooth&clean. I'm diggin this brew! Even though its a modest 5.2 abv, its a creeper. So don't let the smoothness get to your head like it did mine haha.

Mouthfeel is a little better , it compliments the taste hand in hand. Great job with this!

A triumphant 4 is earned ,in my opinion. I loved the roasted malt taste without unwanted sweetness. I will certainly buy this brew again. It's a great all-occasion, any day of the week type of brew. I'm willing to bet it makes KILLER brats too!!

Good for an inexpensive casual drink. I would buy and drink it again ...:::..:,,... via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: Crystal clear copper in color with some yellow at the edges. Some thin lacing, average to minimal head retention and volume. Nice tiny bubbles.

Nose: Metallic and simple. Slight lemon. A little musty/dusty.

Taste: Dry and crispy at first which mellows well into sweet maltiness. Some crushed aspirin at the end.

Third shift 6pk bottles $6.99(OH)

I grabbed this because it was cheap and it claimed to an award winner. (like all of you curiosity)

12 oz brown bottle poured into pint glass. no freshest by date, however a yellow date is printed on the neck and rubs off very easy.

pours a light amber. lighter than i expected for an award winner. doesn't leave much head or lacing unless you put some air between the bottle and your glass. even then lots of head not much lacing. (too light bodied maybe)

the smell is fairly weak. i smell some corn, maybe some malted hops. i really don't smell much.

again i don't really taste much. it don't taste bad but it don't have much going on either. at first it tastes a little malty then a tiny touch of hops on the finish.

i would have to agree the mouth feel is the best part of this beer. it feels OK. its light bodied but not watery. the carbonation is good. i wish they put as much attention into the entire brew, not just the mouth feel.

overall i would consider this an american red/amber lager, not a Vienna lager. it looks o.k. it has no smell. it tastes adjunctant. mouth feel is best. but most of all where are the noble hops? i don't know what Coors master brewers were thinking, at least blue moon was pretty good.
