12oz bottle served in a pint glass
A clear light brown or dark copper in the glass with a thin off white head that falls quickly leaving just a ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. Faint caramel and light grain along with a bit of metallic tinge in the nose. The taste is very much like the smell the with just a touch of the light and toasted caramel malt which is balanced by a faint bit of hop. No real hop character or flavors are there just the bitterness. The overall character is dry and relatively light, a bit slick and some of that metallic slipperiness is in there as well. This is an ok beer obviously it isnt a true Irish Red but it's clear that somebody at coors thought about what an Irish Red should be before making the same light lager with a darker color. Probably good at a picnic, but definitely not a go to beer.

Best Before 'Jun 04 12'.

Poured into a pint glass.

Pours a caramel/light cola color with a half an inch of sudsy white topper. The foam is glazing the glass a bit. 3.0

Sweet malts with a generous toasting evident. Notes of caramel, barley husks, and wheat bread. A trace of hops. 3.0

Toasted malt, caramel, burnt toffee barely, husky astringencies in the finish, and light buttery quality. Not terribly off-base here. Lacking a more prominent hop. Some earthy tones flagged around. Opens without enough bitterness to counter the sweet toasty malt, and the finish is a little dirty. Needs general refinement all around. 3.0

Sudsy without being creamy. Thin-bodied. A little sticky on the lips, even. There's booze evident, which is a little ridiculous. Totally unexpected in that, but very drinkable. 2.5

An okay lager from Big Brother. Brings those Irish Red Ale elements to the table for the beer. A once-in-awhile check-in, at best. 3.0
