12 oz bottle served in a pint glass.

Pours clear dark amber with a hint of blackberry (purple). Decent head and lacing.

Fruity aroma clearly shows the blackberry addition.

Flavor follows with a nice addition of blackberries to the malts, but the aftertaste is not so good.

Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation.

I attempt a more aggressive pour when the bottle's about halfway empty and I realize the head's not really developing. Even then, I get about half a finger of bubbly spritz that dies off within thirty seconds. Fortunately, it's not completely dead, as some continues to cling to the edges for a good while and a patch also remains in the middle for that time. It's also not at all flat, as bubbles continue to rise until the beer is gone. Tiny spots of lacing are all that remain on the glass. The beer itself is orange-brown with an ever-so-slightly purplish hue and a little bright orange in the edges.
The smell is light, consisting mostly of juice (yes, blackberry), some dusty/biscuity yeast notes, drier malt (possibly some caramel malt, too), and very slight floral notes.
The flavor brings out an artificially sweet element foremost , barely distinguishable as fruit, and with a creamed corn note to it. It's generally pretty unpleasant, and my stomach hurts a little. It's not terrible, but that has to be gotten past first. After that the dusty yeast takes hold, not overly grainy, until it goes back to an overly sweet finish that I think isn't helped by caramel malt. Hops are virtually undetectable.
I expect a light body and I get it, along with a sort of effervescence that adds a little crispness, though it doesn't stay firm. It has some smoothness do to a fluffiness after the carbonation edges off. With these beers, it seems the feel is never great but almost always the best aspect.

Comes in the Blue Moon Brewmaster's Seasonal Collection 12pk

A: Nice, dark amber color. Little bit of head, quickly dissipated.

S: Slight fruity smell. Blackberries do not have a pronounced smell or taste and that is evident in this beer.

T: Nothing jumps out at me. Not a ton of flavor. There is a definite fruit taste to it but hard to distinguish it if you didn't know it was a blackberry beer. The tartness certainly isn't pronounced.

M: Not horrible but rather thin and slightly fizzy.

O: About what you'd expect from a Blue Moon offshoot. Nothing great but nothing offensive. Not a beer I feel the need to try again.

A - dark , clear amber with a short, white heads that quickly fades

S - caramel, faint apples, blackberries

T - caramel, toasted malt, blackberries, faint burnt sugar notes in the finish

M - medium bodied, crisp

This beer isn't so bad. For a blackberry tart ale it doesn't do a great job of showcasing the blackberries nor is it tart in any sense. The malt character is enjoyable and a bit more complex than I had anticipated, but it dominates and leaves only slight room for the blackberries to be noticed. Overall, this isn't a terrible beer. It's probably one of the better beers in the spring mix pack.

Poured a nice looking lighter copper color with a small head that quickly dissipates. Very clear to see the slight carbonation. Looks good. Aroma is that of grains & funky fruit. First sip was of an awful, flat, fake fruit concentrate. However, after that first sip it was surprisingly rather nice. Taste is that of light malt with a not overbearing fruit taste. I vaguely picked up a light hop. Finishes a little dry with the light flavor of berries. I went from wondering if I could finish this to having another. It wasn't great, but not bad for a fruit beer (which is a style I don't care for)
