Serving: 16oz Can into a Tulip, Serving temp ~44 degrees F
A - Golden, exceptionally translucent, pours with about half an inch of head.
S - Citrus, Grass, are immediately noticeable from the hops. Smells more malty than I would expect from a west coast style IPA, which are usually just an overload of hops on the nose.
T - Bready, followed by citrus and an earthy quality that I can't quite pick out. Very balanced in this department.
M - Carbonation is good, body is slightly thinner than I'd like. A nice bitterness that sticks on the tongue.
O - I do take issue with it being called a "West Coast style" IPA, as even in their marketing they call it "perfectly balanced". When I think of a WC IPA, I'm expecting something extremely hop forward with no intentions of balancing it with malt. In the end though, it's a solid pint. Worth trying if you haven't had it, and not something I would object to being served, although it's unlikely that I'd purchase it again.

Received as an extra in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip.
A - Poured a nice clear golden hue with a nice one finger white head that faded to leave light lacing and a thin blanket.
S - Aromas of malty sweetness, citrus, pine. For being a west coast ipa this is rather subtle and not nearly as in-your-face as I expected.
T - Taste is bready malts, nice pine resin and citrus but not too too bitter. Finish has the bitter hints but for the most part this is pine and malts.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, nice lingering bitterness.
O - Overall, a solid IPA. Would like the nose to be more assertive though!
