Growler from brewery, into a New Belgium Globe.
A: Dark brown body with very little head and minimal carbonation.
S: Roasted character with a touch of smoke and char. There is an earthy and herbal character behind the roast.
T: There is some chocolate-type flavors within the roast; again, hints of smoke and char. There is a banana flavor, close to the finish, that makes this a unique flavor profile for a porter. Touch of herbal and earthy hops as well?
MF: Smooth, medium bodied, with minimal carbonation - expected, considering the serving type, but honestly a bit watery.
O: Kinda disappointing; I get the banana flavors in the middle of the 'chocolate cream', as advertised, but the flavors are light and watery, as is the mouthfeel. I'll give this brewery another shot.

I love a good robust porter and I dislike thin watery versions. This porter meets my expectations. It has a medium body and not watery at all. The flavors are very tasty and this beer is brewed with bananas and a little of that comes through in the finish.
The nose is pleasant and the aroma also has a slight hint of banana. The dark roasted malts add a wonderful chocolate/coffee flavor in the mid and finish. I highly recommend this beer to anyone visiting the brewery. Don't drink it cold because the flavors really come out as it warms.
Serving type: on-tap
