Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: BakeTheCake on 10-20-2013

We brew Deciduous to welcome the return of Autumn and celebrate New England's changing foliage. This imperial red ale is russet-amber and fills the nose with pleasant aromas of fresh baked bread, pine sap, and floral citrus. Deciduous embodies the seasonal transition from summer to winter with an earth, lemon and spicy pine aroma balanced on the palate with a hearty malt character and clean, refreshing bitterness. Deciduous is medium in body and dry on the finish.

Bottled dated 10/13/15 (Trillium needs a better bottle dater though, too many smudged dates lately); drank in a 16 oz tumbler on 10/24/15; i typically do not love this style but this is the best "red ale" i have ever had; much more in line with Trillium's specialty, it is much less malty, "red", and bitter than many hoppy ambers; finally, it is amazing that this beer is 8%, drinks so easy for the style; prost Trillium!

Hoppy ambers are an interesting style. The hops do not quite balance with the red malts.

poured cloudy reddish brown color with a thin head from the bottle, Great smell of fruits and malt, not as hoppy as some of their others but a nice little bite at the end. Smooth taste and solid mouth feel. I liked it enough to buy it again
