In the spirit of tenacity and camaraderie, Mettle was first created to highlight the milestone of our inaugural year as a brewery. With an intense dual dry-hop treatment of Amarillo and Citra, this medium-bodied Double IPA beckons with aromatics of peach and nectarine. A fusion of grape juice and candied citrus greet the palate while accents of white-wine, grassy hop, and a mellow bitterness reveal themselves on a smooth, dry finish. We continue to brew Mettle in recognition of our devoted following of hopheads that have supported us from the very beginning.

MALT: American 2-row Barley, Valley Danko Rye, Valley Triticale, Valley Wheat, Dextrine, Dextrose

HOPS: Amarillo, Citra, Columbus

I've yet to sample a Trillium beer that I did not consider world class! Keep up the great work, M & M Tetrault

Great DIPA with the classic Trillium aroma that makes you feel like you've stepped into the brewery. Dank, citrusy smell bursts forth from the bottle. Taste of unripened mango, pineapple, orange peels and sweet malt. The malt is actually the sweetest I've tasted from any Trillium beer. Strong alcohol heat envelops the mouth; not off-putting but it makes its presence well known. Extremely bitter.

Thanks to Dan for this one. 750ml bottle into a Grrrz teku. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a dense, powder white 2 finger head with great retention. Beer is a slightly cloudy peach. Lacing is patchy, thick and layered with excellent stick. Fantastic!

Nose is tree sap, resin, pine and a light sweet caramel. Kind of sappy and grassy. Really aromatic.

Opens sweet tree sap, pine, bark and morning mist. Malt body is prominent in the middle and broken up by short bursts of sap hop bitterness and grass. Resin and sweet caramel and brown sugar notes towards the end leave a light, sticky bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent.

Medium bodied with moderate to ample carbonation. Lively and aggressive in the mouth and goes down crisp and quenching. Messy finish with a dry, lingering aftertaste. Very drinkable. The ABV is barely there.

A really well-made IPA that just has the flavor profile that I'm not quite into for the style. Still well worth trying if you're into pine-y, sappy IPAs.
