Growler filled at Green's Piney Grove, poured into a Conquest Brewing tulip-pint glass.
A: Pours a good two-finger, fluffy white head, which recedes fairly quickly to a ring on top of the beer. This ring sticks around as long as the beer does. The beer is a hazy, lightly-golden colour.
S: The scent is an enticing blend of slight honey-sweetness and citrus-y hops. I also pick up a crisp, grain-y aroma.
T: There is a slight bitterness on the tongue, quickly overtaken by a light honey-sweetness. I also get a bit of toastiness, along with some citrus from the hops. Finishes nice and dry, leaving me ready for another quick sip. Everything is fairly light here (in keeping with the style), but it's almost the beer equivalent of some light toast with just a scraping of honey and marmalade (don't take the marmalade analogy too far).
M: Nice medium body here, with moderate carbonation and a fantastic creaminess for such a light (appearance and ABV) beer.
O: I don't typically gravitate toward the style, but this Artemis Blonde leaves me wanting more. Great body and flavor, at an eminently sessionable 4.2% ABV.
Serving type: on-tap
