Appearance: Clear gold with a foamy white head.
Smell: Mostly citric hops, also slightly piney and foral hops. The hop bill is Citra and Simcoe (hence the name) - leans more towards Citra. Strong aroma. I had this from a very recently tapped keg.
Taste: Moderately bitter up front, with the taste following the smell of the hops. Bitterness faded quickly. A little sweet. Malts didn’t show up much for me.
Mouthfeel: Moderately thin with good carbonation.
Overall: What’s not to like about Cimcoe and Citra? A bit thin; this is really all about hop aroma.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a dimpled mug.
Appearance: cloudy yellow-golden hue with a thin layer of white foam. Not too bad, though a little more head/effervescence would be nice.
Smell: bright hops that are grassy, citrusy and ever-so-slightly piquant. The satisfying aroma is a great showcase for these hops.
Taste: sweet malt base with a decently bright hoppiness. The hop character gets a bit muddled, but toward the end is a bursting citrus that is juicy and satisfying.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a big carbonation and a nice creaminess for the style.
Overall: this is a good IPA; although the flavor takes a little while to build, it's worth the wait.

great artwork!
pours a bland, plain liquid- nothing special.
aroma is nice, kind of tropical, definitely Citra and Simcoe. smells very sweet, though....
flavor gets a little sweet, almost malt-y or syrup-y. trying to ensure i'm separating it from the sweet coffee i just drank. keeping that in perspective, there is a straight fresh cleanness to the flavor. this is a really good IPA. Valiant has been just-missing with some really good brews but this one seems to be their best "foot forward" that i have had, although i havent been to their brewery in a long while now....
