Poured into a 12 oz snifter. Pours a slick black, with a two inch dark tan head that leaves behind plenty of lace and takes its time settling into a quarter inch of bubbles. Smell is very roasty coffee, vanilla bean, and dark chocolate. Taste is the same, a huge hit of expresso throughout. Body is medium, excellent carbonation, very dry, and easy drinking, but seems much bigger than its 6% abv. This beer really impresses me for a tiny brewery.

Poured a dark, dark brown with a two inch light brown, bubbly head. Some lacing retained on the glass. Smells of roasted malts and coffee. Some milk chocolate too. Taste is very much the same with coffee up front and slight cocoa on the finish. Medium bodied, a little watery on the finish. A bit sticky on the lips too. Overall, was expecting more but still a decent brew.

From one of the few 650 ml bottles they have released on this limited edition beer. Sampled on January 30, 2014. Serving at about 55 degrees into a stem glass.

The pour is a deep brown color to practically black with a tremendous, soft foamy tan head that lingers and laces.

Check out all that coffee on the nose. And toasted malts! Coffee and toast in my beer just like breakfast with an slight earthy hop hint on the tail side.

Medium and smooth body for certain.

A veritable caffeine rush! Lots of roasted coffee and toasted bread in the taste with a lingering, slightly dry bitterness at the finish. Very nicely done. Get it while you can. When it is gone it is gone.

Bottle from the Beer Store,
Pours a solid black color with a huge bubbly and creamy beige head that persists forever. Aromas of creamed coffee, chocolate, and caramel dominate the nose. Light vanilla and a hint of earth round out the nose. The flavor is rich creamed coffee, caramel and a hint of chocolate again with just a touch of vanilla and brown sugar. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet creamy silky mouthfeel. This is a very nice coffee beer, easy drinker and quite flavorful.

Pours dark brown with thin white head. No light passage. The smell lives up to its name: roast. Lots of dry roasted barley notes paired with cacao and coffee. The coffee is present but doesn't bring that full robust quality that I like in coffee infused stouts. This one is very light and dry in terms of coffee character. Taste is the same: bone dry, roasty, dark chocolate and notes of burnt coffee. Not much in the way of sweetness. Mouthfeel is light and moderately carbonated. Overall, decent brew, just soooo dry. A little malt backbone and sweetness could elevate this beer.

Pour is dark brown with a tan head and a few large bubbles on top. Nose is mostly roasted coffee, roast is extremely heavy. Taste is more roast, a bit burnt, not much malt profile, very singular. Carb is strong, medium to full body, a bit of a grainy finish. Roast lingers.
