Notes/Commercial Description:
An India Pale Ale - gets its golden copper color from the light caramel malts, which provide a solid backbone to the support all the great hops. This beer presents with an overwhelming citrus aroma that leads into an unmistakable flavor of grapefruit. Hop Slinger leaves you with a nice dry bitterness that pairs well with spicy curries, salty fried foods and ginger based desserts.

Pours a five finger khaki head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Almost clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light pine hop nose, flavor is a pine hops with some caramel. Light lingering bitter aftertaste. $6.99 for a 22oz bottle from Market Basket Concord. NH.

Pours a very nice golden hue with a decent head into my glass. Not as pale as expected but acceptable.

That big 'ol pine bite denotes this as an east coast IPA. Other than that, it has a decent malt backbone.

Very crisp. Big lingering pine in the mouth, leaving little room for malt to shine through.

The mouthfeel is basically the same. Just lots of lingering flavor. Nothing to really set it apart though.

A decent IPA that would taste excellent on tap.

Poured from a bomber into a tumbler pint, the beer is a slightly hazy, copper coloring with a steady flow of carbonation. Firm, off-white, clingy head that settles in for the long haul. Aromas of resiny and grassy hops, with a cedar highlight and ribbons of tropical fruit. Flavors of tropical fruit tart and sweet with a caramel backbone. Hops presence is more subtle than on the nose, but builds towards the end of the palate. Building is a grapefruit tart profile, with pine and cedar characters and a bitter mouthfeel. Tangy and bitter aftertaste, with a resiny feel. Slick, slightly drying and bitter finish. Good balance.

Pours a deep golden color with a huge tan head that shows great retention and lace. The aroma is really nice, lots of citrus, pine, and resin with a distant but present bread and caramel malt backbone. The flavor is resinous and pine in spades with a hint of astringency. Light bready caramel comes in to try to provide some balance. Moderate hop bitterness with a subtle chalky note. Medium to thin body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Decent IPA, smells really good, tastes ok, could use a bit more body and less astringency, but quaffable just the same.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on January 19, 2013.

I am proud to be the first person to review a beer from this new New Hampshire nano-brewery.

The pour is golden-copper with a full, off-white, foamy head that lingers for quite some time. The clarity is excellent.

The aroma is mostly piney hops with a grapefruit zing tickling my nose. The bready malts are more reserved but can be found lingering in the background.

The body is about medium and typical for the style.

The taste is vibrant and bitter with a quick hint of bready malts followed by an explosion of hops that leave a moderate to bold bitterness lingering on the tail end. If you are an IPA fan with bold hops you will probably like this one. Congrats on the new brewery!

In a pint glass this beer was a hazy dark orange color. It had a small white head that left a bit of lace.

Aroma of citrus and caramel malt.

Mostly a grapefruit taste. Some caramel in the background, but it didn't play much of a role.

Very hoppy. Maybe too hoppy/unbalanced. Not certain I will try this again.

Found this in the back of a general store in North Conway NH. Never heard of Henniker Brewing or Henniker NH before but according to their website that's pretty common and the way they like it.

Dark orangey gold color with a slushy, thick head. Very sticky.

Smells like grapefruit and caramel. Sharp pine when I opened the bottle softens in my glass.

Tastes like grapefruit and plenty of sweet caramel malt. Big bitter isn't enough to combat the overpowering caramel malts.

Eh. Makes me think of a bigger SA Lattitude 48.

Poured into an imperial pint glass. Color was a nice dark amber, with a reasonable number of streams of bubbles rising from the bottom. Head was a foamy dirty white that sat nicely, but had no cling. Aroma was citrusy, primarily grapefruit that peaked around the hoppiness. Taste was primarily hoppy, but had a strange finish to it. Something not quite right, but I can't place the taste, almost a sour citrus soap. Felt great. Coated very well, not at all watery, with a nice amount of tingly from the carbonation. Overall a solid beer, but the strange flavor was detracting.
