473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Aug 25 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear orange-amber colour, its body containing flaky sediment that quickly settles out; it's topped with more than a finger of frothy, foamy, off white-coloured head that recedes over the next several minutes. A modest band of lacing is also left in its wake: looks good, and the aroma is sure to be a hit if you like pumpkin pie filling. Ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg are also noticeable, with whiffs of brown sugar and bready malts also coming through.
This is a solid pumpkin beer - again, it's squash/pumpkin pie filling that comes to mind immediately, with flavours of bready malt, brown sugar and cinnamon toast following closely. Hints of ginger, allspice and especially nutmeg develop on the back end, with one last burst of squash/pie filling and caramelized malts preceding a mildly sweet, spicy, lightly earthy aftertaste that lingers. Medium in body, with slightly assertive carbonation that feels crisp and prickly on the tongue, adding some much-appreciated bite to this spiced beer's smooth, fluffy mouthfeel.
Final Grade: 3.95, a B+. Oast House's Country Bumpkin is my kind of pumpkin beer - in fact, my only real complaint is that the nutmeg really lingers on the taste buds, becoming a minor nuisance over the course of the glass. Then again, this is the third pumpkin spice beer I've reviewed in a row, so it's also possible that I'm just really getting sick of this stuff. Pumpkin spice overkill aside, I did like this beer quite a bit, and I think it's one of the better gourd-focused (as opposed to spice-focused) pumpkin ales that Ontario has to offer right now. Highly recommended to pumpkin beer lovers.

Served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for around $3.75 CDN. Canned October 5, 2022. Listed at 5.3% ABV.
Appearance - clear orange/ amber beer with two fingers of tight white hea don top. Some carbonation rises to the top in te middle of the glass. Very good staying power.
Smell - Some pumpkin, some nutmeg and cinnamon as well, but the spices are subdued. Fairly intense aromatics on the whole with some light bready notes in behind the pumpkin.
Taste - Initially a light roasted pumpkin flavor, then more pumpkin and gradually the nutmeg and cinnamon appear. Semi-bitter, more bitter than most in the style.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, lighter than average carbonation, sort of wet and watery finish.
Overall - A good pumpkin beer, buoyed to the really good pumpkin beers by having a very good nose and nice drinkability. One of the better local pumpkin brews, absolutely not unhappy to have picked up a couple of these so fresh.

Damn this is a good beer. Pours a dark orange colour with a midsized head. Pumpkin pie on the nose. I can taste the pumpkin and various other gourds and squashes, making this a unique fall seasoned beer that I find delicious
