Sampled on tap at the Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel. Filled so full I had to take a giant gulp before carrying to my seat. In the glass this one is an orangish-gold with a minimal bubbly white head . The aroma is a straight up fresh hop assault. Just a tantalizingly wet & juicy hop explosion. Some overpowered, but present sweetness tries to express itself but is dominated by the massive floral hops. Flavor is absurd. Hoppy blend of pine, grapefruit, flowers & fresh-cut lemongrass. Subtle sweet malty backbone is subordinate in the flavor as it was in the nose, but it is there lurking under the surface. Moderately bitter and medium-bodied. Dry and resinous & finishes with a long-lasting fresh floral flavor, making it almost impossible not to have another. I would give a limb for a keg of this stuff.

A - Amber, somewhat rusty body with a one inch head leaving nice lacing as the beer goes down.

S - Pine and citrus hops with a vociferous malt backbone and an unfortunate rubbing alcohol nose that much is much too apparent.

T - Malty piney hops. Alcohol again makes its presence known, unfortunately.

M - Smooth and oily and with a dry finish. Alcohol is apparent on the finish as well.

O - A nice DIPA, but the alcohol is too noticeable, detracting from the hop presence. Thanks to the wife for bringing a bottle back from San Clemente!

There is too much going on. And due to the ABV this comes in a smaller glass and never on Happy Hour...why, this is an overated beer there and one to avoid if possible.
A: Slight gold/light brown color.
S: Hoppy hits the notes with citrus notes that just jump out.
T: Too sweet and hard for an IPA to enjoy.
M: Milky and alcohol kill this one
O: Have had it several times...it is okay

From old notes.

A: Pours a copper color with a big head, about two (or more) fingers tall and white in color.

S: Smells like a pine tree all the way. Intensely piney, resinous, and oily with some moderate citrus tones to it. Very green and very intense. A bit of tropical fruits in there too.

T: Amazingly bitter and just as heavy on the pine as the nose was. Quite a bit of grapefruit and perhaps some pineapple and apricot. No real room for malt flavor on this one.

M: Medium in body with a moderate to high level of carbonation.

O: I could easily see this being "too much" for somebody but I really enjoyed it.

A - Orange golden clear with slight head & lacing.

S - Lightly juice like, but definitely hops and alcohol, maybe sage, maybe not?

T - Taste is medium/heavy of hops and citrus, not long after tste, alcohol'ish but I like that.

M - Not too carbonated, but has a good medium of drink-ability, slightly "hot" alcoholish.

D - good drink-ability, but might be little "hot" and over the top for some, but still the after taste is not much, very light aftertaste. Pretty good brew, I can tell its got a high alcohol content (9.4).

Poured from a 22oz bomber

A= It poured a very nice Golden Orange with some golden coloring. Very nice head on this beer some lacing.

S= To me the smell was Hoppie to me a little bit of citrus with a hint of pine.

T= To me the tasted was deffently one of a strong beer which is fine with me they really didn't try to hide it. Left a little after taste.

M= Was a Heavy mouthful kind of coated my mouth.

D= To me it was really drinkable didn't have any problems would try it again. It was on the strong side but still a good choice would try it again.

On tap at TDR in Exton

A- Bright copper with some orange hints beneath and a flimsy off white cap with no lacing.

S- Smell is on the piney side with some residual sugar and some alcohol, bordering on nail polish in the minimal

T- An interesting DIPA, it's a very bitter one also, the pine overshadows the glimmers of pineapple and grapefruit that is underneath. Reminds me of a extremely light version of devil dancer with the teeth enamel taking off capabilities.

M- medium in build, slightly carbed alcohol on the mouth but not extremely hot. Bitter on the tounge that does not quit.

D- I am glad I tried it on tap no less but I don't think I will be going for it again. The alcohol is a bit high for my liking.

I really don't know what to make of this beer. It kind of grows on you, but tares the enamel off them and isn't overly drinkable. to wit!:
A: pours a nice golden. some carbonation. little bit oh head, that dies pretty quickly
S: clean quick pine and citrus
T: Sharp astringent citrus. and hints of mint. little hints of alcohol but damned is it astringent. not utterly mouth destroying.
M: sharp not really clean, and not really heavy
D: one at tops for me

Pours a golden orange with a small head which disspates to a spotty coating quickly. There is some lacing but minimal. Nose is orange and pine most strongly with some backside of flowery sweet hops. Taste starts sweet enough (orange, pineapple grapefruit and caramel) but quickly moves to bitter and a strong alcohol burn which isn't pleasant. Mouthfeel is chewy, syrupy and cloying with some edge due to the carbonation. While not awful, I coud not drink more than one of these and, with so many great IPA's out there, will pass on buying it again.

Appearance: Clear, orange with an ivory head.

Smell: some hop aroma, but I'm surprised there isn't more given the 4# of hops/barrel. I can smell the alcohol, which lowers the score for me.

Taste: surprisingly dry and much more malty than I expected given the label says base malt with a touch of caramel. Also tastes hot.

Mouthfeel: light and clean.

Drinkability: too hot for my tastes. Also tastes more like a very fresh bigfoot than a double IPA.
