This is an all around excelent west coast IPA. This one poured a dark orange/mahogany color with a big fluffy head that stuck to the glass like glue and left great ring like lace after every sip. The smell was full of cascade hops and not much else. The taste was just what I was looking for. Huge hop presence and a nice medium to dry flavor. Malt took a backseat to the hops on this one but were still there. Only improvement I can see it to make the malt profile a little more interesting, other than that if you want a good hop injection this is a pretty good choice.

Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Crisp pine hop aroma with some lemon and oranges. Decent west coast IPA; resin and citrus blend well, but are very light in mouthfeel. Does not end as well as it starts. Lots of metal. Much better off the tap than the bottle.

Looks like a standard ipa, amber hue, some orange and brown color, average head, retention. Aroma was what most people say 'floral' is.

Taste, another remarkably pedestrianly good beer. Grassy hop grit feel. Good hop bitterness, aspects of pine tips or some other plant life in it besides the hops. A slight degree of brown ale sweetness to it.

Wasn't the biggest fan of the beer overall, but its a solid standup beer that passes a general drinkability test. The worst part was listening to some shit bitch about the beer unrealistically. A polite yet stronghanded reminder that he wasn't behind his keyboard anymore shut him up.

on-tap Oggi's Huntington Beach, California

I've never been to an Oggi's before - but have enojyed some of their beers at various festivals. Having some time to kill in Huntington Beach, I figured I'd stop by and try it out.

The selection was not stellar - this was the only beer that caught my eye. It poured a nice amber color with a slight head lacing. Hops dominated the aroma. This was even hoppy for an IPA. But I like hops. It had a nie sweetness that I didn't expect, balance quite well with the hop character. It had a nice creaminess and slight alcohol warmth. I'd like to have this available to drink often. It's a great IPA.

Poured a med. golden with hints of red.
Nice head in the glass.
Smell of hops and more hops and a little lemon.
Tastes sharply of hops with a little lemon peel....very typical of a west coast IPA.
Aftertaste was of citrus rind. Nice remaining warmth from the alcohol.
Didn't complement my pizza well....bad choice on my part.
I couldn't drink many of these due to the astringent aftertaste

All around good IPA, Very refreshing. Light orange in color fairly clear, smells of fresh grass/floralness. Tastes good, grapfruity slightly "tingy", crisp well balanced IPA. refreshing! fairly wet, then feels dryer on the finish. I enjoyed it. I ordered the santa fe wrap with it. And it really brought out the alchohol presence (6.9 I believe) would have paired much better with the hot wings.

On tap at Carmel Country Road. One of the better products in the lineup. Gold with a little white head. Good bitterness and C hop. Your prototype West Coast IPA. Well malted, though you just taste the citrus.Columbus, Cascade, Willamette and Centennial.

On tap at Oggi's Corona, CA location. This looked good coming out of the gates- a nice pine smell (no relation to the city it is named after), but the taste is a little astringent in the bitterness to me- it really lingers, a little more than I would like. The mouthfeel is a little slick, probably because of the higher alcohol content for an IPA. It features the hops very nicely but in the end its the finish that doesn't quite do it for me.

22 oz bottle,no freshness date.

light amber with a few bits of sediment floating around. Lively carbonation supports a creamy tan head. Decent lace.

Aromas of fresh cut grass, citrus and pine. Caramel maltiness hiding in the background.

Flavor is citrus peel and pine up front, with some caramel sweetness in the middle, and a very dry piney, citrus pith finish.

Not very balanced. All hops and no malt, makes for a very dry mouth.

I ordered up a pint of this brew at Oggi's in Vista. T.P.I. had a clear amber color, some modest carbonation and a scraggly white head that sputtered down to a thin collar all too quickly.
The first and nearly only thing I could notice in the nose of this IPA was the powerful grapefruity hops aroma. Some mild biscuit malt aroma lurked in the background but all indications were that this promised to be one massively hopped brew.
A sip provided my palate with an immediate searing surge of pine- and grapefruit-inspired bitterness. This caused a near-fatal "palate hops coma" as my tastebuds became benumbed. Some relief came as the beer mellowed a bit but by then the damage was done. The feel was medium/light and quite dry.
Overall, this was a scorcher of a West Coast IPA, heavily hopped and lacking the hops-to-malt balance I like in an IPA. Bigger is not always better.

The beer departs the 22-ounce bottle a clear mahogany color with chunks of goodies, the head is substantial and off white, as it erodes the lace forms a concealing sheet upon the glass. Nose has a decent hop floral aroma, chased by the sweet malt, crisp and clean. Start is a bit sweet with a pleasant malt profile and a modest bitter bite at thee back, top is medium in feel. Finish has a determined acidity with hops deliciously spicy, dry and long lasting aftertaste to seal off the beer, drinkable and a nice IPA

I have had this India Pale Ale several times at the Oggi's Pizza & Brewing in Mission Viejo, California. I am writing this review from my notes.
In my opinion, this is a very average west coast IPA. It's a medium golden color with a floral nose. It has a hoppy flavor. If you have a family, Oggi's is kid-friendly and the beer is decent, but not spectacular

thanks to intriken for a growler of this brew!

A - Hazy golden amber color with a white head.
S - piney citric hops meld over a caramel taste.
T - initial mix of citric and piney hops fades over to a piney catty hop note.
M - medium bodied, nicely carbonated, sharp catty after effect.
D - decent enough brew, bit sharper catty hop effect in the end of the glass.

The nose is huge and full of fresh cascades. It's like I just opened a bag of leaf hops to dry hop a beer. The hops are huge and a little raw. The flavor is definitely on the dry side. It's an excellent IPA, but I think I'd like a bit more malt flavor and body to back up the raging hops.
