Poured from a 22 oz. bottle into a tall Summit glass.

Appearance: Pours a deep copper amber orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big gushing four finger off white head with good retention. Leaves a good amount of clingy lacing.

Smell: A sharp hop forward aroma with hints of earthy and citrus hops and caramel malt. Bold hop mix upfront with earthy and herbal hints of grass and pine resin. Citrus hop hints of orange peel, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, melon, mango, and lemon. I'm assuming these are Galaxy hops due to the name. Solid balancing bready malt background with hints of sweet caramel, toffee, grains, biscuit, and yeast. A pretty nice hoppy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a nicely sharp and bitter hop forward taste with earthy and citrus hop notes and a solid caramel malt backing. Upfront notes of earthy, herbal, and floral hops with notes of grass and pine resin. Good citrus presence with notes of grapefruit, orange, pineapple, tangerine, lemon, melon, and mango. Good sweet malt balance with notes of caramel, toffee, biscuit, grains, cracker, and yeast. Has more of a Midwest style IPA taste than West Coast. Tastes pretty good.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Nicely juicy and somewhat oily. Very smooth.

Overall: A pretty solid take on the IPA style. Good mix of hop esters with a nice caramel malt backbone. Good to see another Galaxy hop brew hit the shelves.

Appearance: Cloudy amber, good head.

Smell: Mild citrus/pine, kind of weak.

Taste: Tangy bitter citrus first, then moderate sweetness before finishing with dry citrus rind.

Overall: Saw this bottle and decided to support another local brewery. This is a pretty solid IPA but not too remarkable. Gives a good hoppy, dry citrus finish.

More malt on the nose than hops, bigger grass than tropical fruit.
Pours slightly hazy orange tinted amber with a 2" finely bubbled, persistent off-white foam cap that produces good lace.
Malt forward with firm malt backbone with caramel and biscuit. Hops are more grassy than citrus but do have some traces of tropical fruit and citrus.
Aftertaste is grassy hops.
Very creamy with medium body and carbonation.

Not sure what this bottle is, but it was an inexpensive bomber of a galaxy-hopped IPA, so I gave it a shot. Tasted 8 October 2013.

Pours a clear, medium rusty orange. One finger of yellowish head. Decent retention and lacing.

Smell has that Galaxy touch, but it's faint. And beyond that very light tropical punch touch, there's not much too it. Robust caramel malts, moreso than I'd like, adding a sweetness that overshadows the hops. Not bad, but certainly not the hop showcase I was hoping for.

Taste starts out like a typical dry, medium-bitter IPA. Slightly chalky, then it comes on like aspirin. Kinda yucky there, actually. Some sips I get that, some I don't. The more I drink it, the more it tastes like I'm sipping a glass of ground up aspirin tablets. On balance, I don't really like it, and don't think I'll be finishing it.

Feel is okay. A little light on the carbonation, medium-bodied. Chalky!!! Dries my mouth out in ways I don't like.

Haven't had anything else from 612. I hope this is an anomaly. Chalky and bitter like an aspirin tablet. Not my thing at all.
