Served in a pint glass, the pour was dark black and opaque, with a good head.
Full body but carboration is a tad too high.
Lots of black coffee in the nose, with even more in the flavor. Strong, rich flavor. Good bitter/sweet balance. Lasting aftertaste of coffee and dark roasted, smokey malts.
O: a nice rich porter with way more smoke and coffee than average.

A: Had this beer on-tap at Gene's haufbrau, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick texture. There was a half inch of exceptionally creamy, tan-colored, very long-lasting head. Incredible lacing.
S: A subtly enticing aroma of chocolate, coffee and malt.
T: Basically tastes like it smells: A big shot of chocolate right up front with a good amount of coffee and some roasted malt in the finish. A dry, well done flavor that's much more robust than your typical porter.
M: A well-carbonated beer with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An engaging, likeable, well made beer.

Had this Mercado in downtown Charleston, SC. Great two finger off white head with a not strong but present chocolate aroma. Head stayed throughout the beer leaving perfect rings from top to bottom of the glass. Overall a great beer especially after a meal. Not as heavy or strong as other porters which I liked. Great beer and I will definitely purchase again!

Smell (4.00) – chocolate and coffee upfront. Overall light smell. Milky. Something else going on – some sort of stouty dryness
Appearance (4.50) – pretty thin pout from a 32oz growler to a snifter. You can see light through the stream fairly easily. Huge cream colored head – potentially a result of the growler. In the glass it looks a bit darker than the pour. Really nice lacing.
Taste (4.25) – Dry coffee notes are abundant at the beginning. The dryness reminds me of a stout but then an earthy overtone brings it more into the porter realm. Bitterness is medium high level. The hopp flavor is actually kinda ashy but in a good way. Chocolate is there but not nearly as much as the nose leads you to believe. Taste is pretty consistent until the end where the ash really takes over.
Mouthfeel (4.25) – Light on the mouth and pretty drinkable. Abv isn't high – so its good that you don't get any of it.
Overall (4.25) – This is a super solid offering from these guys. Its my first and definitely won't be my last. There is much more coffee than chocolate I think and I'm not sure how well this falls into the porter category – but I really like it. Easy to drink and I can't ask for much more.

A. Poured into a pint glass, color is that of black coffee with a nice sized cream colored head that dissipates into a nice lace.
S. Nice roasted malt & coffee smell
T. Just along the lines of the smell, Strong coffee with a light roasted malt and little to no chocolate (not really sure why it's in the name should have been coffee) followed by a nice amount of hops.
M. Medium body, could have a little more carbonation to me but still nice.
Overall a really nice beer might get another growler, would definitely recommend.
