Lucky Town Brewing Co. "Ballistic Blonde"
12 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 10/15/18". Pressure sensitive paper label.

Look: Cloudy orange-amber body beneath a full head of fluffy bright white foam. Excellent head retention and very good lacing.

Smell: Limited aroma of Belgian yeast with a bit of spiciness and fruitiness (bruised apple) over a grainy and biscuity malt base.

Taste: As the aroma suggests with perhaps a touch of soft raisin added in. Spicy with a dusting of black pepper, some woodiness, and subtle clove. It finishes dry, somewhat bitter, and peppery.

Feel: Medium to medium-light in body and gently crisp.

Overall: Not unlike their Weevie Road Golden Ale, it's not exactly what I'd expected but still good. I'm wondering, in fact, if I've somehow gotten mislabeled cans.

A: Hazy gold with rich head and sticky lacing.
N: Fruit, malt, and some mild hops.
T: Soft fruit notes with a nice sweetness, light hops and some floral tones mixing in.
M: Light/Medium
O: This is a little gem of a beer, soft flavors develop with temp, lots of hidden flavors that develop as the beer sits. I really liked this one, it grew on me as I finished.

Very attractive lighter shade of gold in the appearance, white cap that goes away but lacing remains.

Yeasty aroma in a good way, underlain by spicy hops followed by caramel malt.

The aroma indicates sweetness but the flavor proves otherwise. Mildly caramely malt carries all the way through then rebounds in the aftertaste which is actually a bit richer than the initial taste impression. Hops follow along and quietly exit at the finish. If tasting this blind I would've said Belgian before asking who made it. It has those characteristics without actually screaming Belgian because I don't find clove/coriander or banana yet there's something reminiscent of Belgian brewing there.

Texture is on the lighter side of medium.

Overall this is a capably brewed Belgian Style Blonde Ale (the brewer's words) that is well balanced with good flavor. At 5% it's fairly quaffable, has enough acidity to stand up to grilled fish, doesn't challenge the hop challenged and has enough substance for the bolder flavor crowd.

Poured into a 12 oz glass it had a golden color much like a glass of tea. Smell was of yeast with a smooth but strong yeast flavor. I would say it was a good Belgium blonde. I really enjoyed sitting back and sipping it.
