A: dirty-yellow tending towards amber, slightly hazy
S: grainy, malty, a little orange-blossom and honey

T: malty front, with sweetness and fruitiness: the net seems to me a bit like peach. There is some citrus in there as well, but it's not prominent. The bitterness in the beer never takes hold to overcome fruity malt beginning.
M: there is a slight pull on the tongue, and decent carbonation. As the bitterness tries to take hold, the fruit-malt notes linger; eventually the bitterness wins out, lingering but not in an overpowering sense.

O: a decent malt-forward IPA, but one that is a little lacking a nice, bitter pull that takes over the back end. I believe it's a solid, nicely done, if unexceptional, offering by a smaller brewery. The offering definitely encourages me to try more from them.

Poured a dark golden orange with two finger head that took forever to go away and left lace patches with a typical earthy, citrusy hop aroma. Taste is the same, mostly hoppy, dry, citric, earthy, some sweet malts add balance but it's just a little off. Whether it is the spices or the hops themselves this beer has a little too much hoppy bitterness and finishes a little offkey and underwhelming. Still, an enjoyable IPA that isn't too hoppy or watery and worth trying.

Sipping on this little monster as I type . . .

Let me say that I am an IPA guy. I've drank almost everything (categorically speaking), and yet my true love is the citrus, floral hoppiness and high ABV that IPAs deliver.

As for this one, my first instinct was to smile at its unfiltered nature. No irish moss, no messing around here. Just beer from it's secondary into a bottle. Simple, honest and straightforward, it presents itself with high floral notes, citrus sweetness and a piny nose that all but disappears at the tongue lashing it disperses at the finish.

Thick in the mouth, slight laces on the glass, a bit of over maltiness that is not distracting (like the Dogfish Head 120), but complementing. This is a well balanced beer. This has been crafted with quality.

With the cap popped off the first thing you can notice is the smell of citrus. A very hoppy bite at first sip, then transcends into a numbing sensation after awhile. It's sweet and bitter all at once and tastes an awful lot like it smells. Overall it's a great brew and worth picking up if you can find it!

Nice mouthfeel with a grainy middle yielding a nice hop aftertaste. This beer is a great blend for an IPA - not over the top hops but no wimpiness either. I've been doing a lot of Devil's Backbone 8 pt. IPA ( local to Charlottesville, Va). - big citrussy IPA lately and this is a delightful back off of that without being a pu%%y.

My old favorite was Starr Hill Pale ALe - since discontinued in favor of their Northern Lights - hoppy but a bit thin in the middle.

If you're an old IPA drinker this one might be the right mix for you. It is for me.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a foamy bone head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest and herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice balance of citrus and herbal hop qualities.

Tasty IPA. Looks great. Hazy orange/light copper color with a huge slightly off-white head. Excellent retention and thick lacing.

Smell is balanced. Some citrus hops (orange/tangerine) and some slightly sweet bready malt.

Taste is similar. Bitter enough, main flavor is citrus hops with some balancing maltiness, slightly sweet. Very tasty, no hint of alcohol.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp. Enough bitterness sto satisfy and some maltiness as a counterbalance. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Good, solid IPA. A bit too high octane for anything close to a session but great with food and a good easy sipper.
