First had: on tap at Pinocchio's, Media, PA

A new beer from a new nano in SEPA. Poured into a shaker, a hazy, deep copper color; a huge blanket of off-white head flowed from the tap handle, taking a minute or two to settle to a servable size, which retained as a thick collar and left some nice lacing on the glass. The aroma was pretty muted, caramel malts, sugar sweetness, distant citrusy hops. With so many good and exciting IPAs and APAs going around right now, I gotta say, this one was not really making a good impression on me. Taste was sweet, malty, quite chalky, buttery, toasted grains, subdued citrus and floral hops. I know this is just a nano, but this was definitely homebrewy, and not very good homebrewy. From the taste of it, it seems like these guys might have a water chemistry issue. Body was light-medium, lower carbonation, not bad drinkability; I didn't care for the beer, but it wasn't necessarily undrinkable. Needs work. Otherwise, we'll have another Boxcar on our hands.
