22 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. Sticker on the bottle says 3830. The second beer collaboration between Flesk Brewing Company and 20 West Wines & Spirits, both from the neighboring village of Lombard. The label says this ale was brewed to celebrate the 100th year of firefighters protecting the Lombard community. Scottish style ales aren't typically my favorite, but I'm giving it a go.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter glass.

A - Appearance is flat and uncarbonated with just the faintest conjuration of a tan bubbly ring around the edges when swirled. Body color is a muddy mahogany with some ruby highlights when held to the light. Some dark sediment specks lurking at the bottom. Not exactly sure this came out as intended.

S - Smell is also kind of hard to describe. There isn't a lot going on. I get some mineraly well-water, some breadiness, some funky yeast presence, and a hint of roasted nuttiness.

T - Taste follows in vain of the nose. Peanut / hazelnut nuttiness, brown bread, some creaminess, earthy mineral well-water, and some funky yeast. Doesn't exactly taste like it came out as planned either, but I think it's pretty good.

M - Feel is a bit on the thin and watery side, with little to no carbonation presence. Medium bodied, smooth, clean, and creamy with some yeast & nuttiness lingering.

Overall, this is about as local of an option as I've got, and even if minor flaws are apparent, I'm glad to have it. Nowhere near as good as the Flesk Brewing Lombard Cruise Nights Summertime Ale, but I will have no trouble finishing this bottle. Can't wait to have more of these Flesk / 20 West collaboration beers. If you guys are reading this, brew one for Villa Park next year.
