Very random place in Downey. From the outside, it looks like an old deli that's been around awhile (and it has). Walking in, there are a dozen or so tables with metal chairs. On the right is a large deli counter where you would normally place your food orders. Very typically Italian deli look. The unassuming part is that straight on the back wall are 70+ taps. Various signs and a monitor lets you know what's serving. It's kind of unclear because not all the beers are on the monitor/signs so some you just have to guess or ask. I had an Abyss and a Maharaja and my friends had a Hercules, 3 Philosophers, Deliverance. All beers were fresh and poured in appropriate glasseware and generously filled passed their mark. From the pictures online, it seems like the beers/taps may be a new addition so some of the kinks such as an updated beerlist, needs to be worked out. Service was excellent. The evening manager greeted us and knew us by name the whole night. We also had sandwiches which were all hits. Don't expect a fancy gastropub because this is not. This is a super casual spot with an awesome selection of beers and good sandwiches. I found myself saying how I wish there was a little hangout like this closer to home...more than a few times that night.

Great location that you would never know they had a huge selection of brews. Sometimes they surprise and have something incredible and dont require you to get a full pour, flights for days! Not to mention the sandwiches are amazing!

A great selection of beer both on tap and bottles to go. A place where they really know your name. A family business w here the sandwiches are fresh and the staff really knows their beers. George really puts alot of time in finding the good stuff and knows what he has. If you are looking for swill like Bud, Coors light, or M.G.D.,go to B.J.'s.. you can't find it here.

I found out about Henry's Deli on a thread here some time ago, and I was meaning to visit this deli. I'm glad I finally did today. It's located in a strip mall in Downey. The funny thing is that without knowing I'd golf at Rio Hondo which is literally right across the street and drove by this corner many times not knowing a really nice deli existed that served craft beers. I remember always debating where to go for food afterwards, but no one else knew about Henry's, so we'd end up at all kinds of places. No more. Golf at Rio Hondo, we eat and drink at Henry's!

Once you enter the store, the deli is on the right with about 6-7 tables in the middle. At the back is the wall with about 100 taps (probably ~75 active), and these are quality taps. I'm actually quite amazed that a deli in Downey has this selection. They also have some small coolers with bottles for sale.

I also bought an Italian sandwich with some side salads. Very solid.

You have to keep in mind that this is a deli, not a bar or brewpub and to have this selection is quite amazing.

Like I said, I'm glad I now know this place exists. A little far for a regular trip, but when I'm in the area, it's a definite stop.

I can not believe what they did. Its a small deli serving sandwiches with about 30 seats. most places this small may have 5 taps tops. Uncle Henry's Deli, about 99 craft beer taps. Not yard house taps, Local craft beer including sours, imperial stouts and some barrel-aged beers.

Not only beer on tap but good bottles too. Saw some Firestone Anniversary, Bruery, and Almanac.

If you are near downey, its a must to stop and see it for yourself. people talked about how many taps when they had 33. Now they tripled it.

Live nearby this place and i love it. Always have a great beer selection and they make a killer sandwich. I will definitely become a regular here. If your in the area definitely a must try. I would reccomend any of their cold sandwiches thebbread is awesome. They have about 110 beers on tap and a hood atmosphere where people like to conversate and if the people dont the owners definitely will. Dont get mad at the rude jokes being made its all fun and games. I see a lot of people complain about the things said and i go here a lot i can say its just for fun nothing serious. If your affended easily this place isnt for you.

I recently moved back to the LA area and am always on the lookout for great craft beer places. This place is a little out of the way but very worth it. They have one of the biggest tap selections I've ever seen and in terms of quality, you'll be hard pressed to find a better beer selection in LA. They regularly have Knee Deep, Port, Stone, Avery, Oskar Blues, North Coast, The Bruery and many others on tap. Keep in mind, this is just as it's name suggest, a deli. It's not a bar or even a taproom. It's a fairly good and well-priced deli with an amazing selection of beer. When I went I had a very good pastrami sandwich for around $7 and I started with Palate Wrecker, before trying the Jurata baltic porter from Coronado in collaboration with Cigar City. The sandwich and drinks were excellent and fairly affordable. When I first arrived the server was rather curt but he was the only one working and once we got to talking about beer he warmed up to me. He made some good recommendations which I sampled for free and when I left he told me to call ahead next time so he could tell me whether they had the specific beers I was looking for. All in all, I would highly recommend checking this place out, but just be aware the tap list online is not what they have onsite.

General Impression: Excellent value and top tier selection in terms of quality and variety.

(They also carry some fairly good and rare bottles but the markup on some is a bit high)

I went here for the first time today. The proprietor, George, was very knowledgeable about beer and the craft, and he offered me many samples and offered beer advice. He also saved me a bottle of Parabola, a gesture for which I am eternally grateful. I can't wait to go again.

I love Uncle Henry's Deli. This place has continued to add taps to the wall. Currently have 72 taps with plans to add more quickly. I hear they will have 100+ very soon. They stay on top of new releases and always seem to have one of the better lists in all of Los Angeles. And George always has great specials on some of the best craft breweries around. You can get pitchers of anything you want and you can pour it into the glassware of your choosing. Needless to say, not your typical beer bar. Its a deli...they serve good sandwiches with fresh ingredients. The vibe is very mellow. They have TVs everywhere with their beer list on a couple of them and tv shows on the big one. If you're in the area check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Came across this place on just a whim. Their selection is pretty damn good considering the city it's located in. Downey is a small suburb in Los Angeles and it's a very quiet city. Henry Jr is the manager/owner and he knows his stuff. A bit too sarcastic but he warms up to you. The food is pretty good as well. The sandwiches are made fresh and I have never had a bad meal there.
