Fruity citrus and tropical hops and brett funk, barnyard and must, in the initial aroma. Flavor reveals much more brett character at the backbone, with the signature plastic and must notes dominating, becoming fairly dry at the spicy finish. Notes of grapefruit and mango add a welcome contrast. Somewhat balanced in extremes between brett and hop flavoring.

With the need for standout character, complexity and charm, the better saison makers aren't looking forward; they're looking back. Back to history to reclaim the rusticity, dirty and earthen nuances that modern brewing and technological advancements have stripped from the style.
Oersoep brewers have captured a taste of an era gone by with a dark and foggy gold ale. Its foamy bogish cap releases a plethora of fruit and soil-riddled perfume. Citrus, sourish and orchard fruit play out dryly to the nose while the underpinning of steely caramels, brazen carbonation and playful acidity strike the early palate with surprising force.
The gregarious bubbly nature of the beer wants to skip over the middle, but in doing so lays down a trail of saddle leather, burlap, peated soil and an off-shoot of rose. Dry fruitiness remisce of apple, lemon and orange with tropical apricot and kiwi playing delicately along the periphery of taste.
Fast to finish, the beer's pin-point carbonation lifts the beer as it seems to melt from the palate like cotton candy. But the bitterness of citrus peel, grass and damp hay offer a bite to balance the malt and vinous acidic properties. Even the peppery, cinnamon numbing offers a mild medicinal quality that rises midway through the session.

Orange color and almost clear, white rocky head reducing to thin layer, leaving lacing, plenty big bubbles.
Nose is pretty complex with tropical fruit hops, a certain spicyness
fruity hops on the palate, caramel malts but restrained, just a little bitter and ending with a combination of dryness and tartness. With an aftertaste of lingering grapefruit.
Medium body with refreshing carbonation
The leaflet says that this beer was fully fermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and one can clearly taste that. However it is almost not sour. The yeast plays just a part in this great symphony. The aroma is good but the taste is incredible. What a delight to have such brewery in the Netherlands.
