The wife and i stopped in at their Lakewood location, which is not on BA. It is on Madison Ave. a few blocks off 117. Really nice selection of beer, and their own mead. The beers and meads were very good, but pricey. No food at this location, but still well worth a stop.

In 2012 my son bought a house on Washington Blvd., a little over a block away (towards Coventry). I knew of this brewer then because I like-minded work colleague who is a life long resident of the eighborhood told me about it. Over the years it has been a regular place to stop when some superior beer drinking was in order.
Whether you stop here to hang out and eat from the limited menu, or bring your own food (perfectly ok to do), listen to the casual music they sometimes have, or just stop by for a drink before going elsewhere in the neighborhood, it's all cool. The growlers can be pricey, but they always are brewing some of the most high quality and unique stuff anywhere.
Besides out of this world ales and beers they usually have some meads and occasionally a braggot.
Highly recommended.

Cleveland is full of average breweries. The BottleHouse is definitely not one of them. I mean what brewery in the area absolutely kills it with barrel aged sours, lagers (great pilsner), hop forward beers, BA stouts and mead!? Mead for godsake! Sure they are not a restaurant but I love breweries that focus on brewing.

Spacious with long, communal-style, picnic-height tables and a few hightops, there is a music stage, high ceilings, and a short bar with a metal surface that is my only real complaint about the space. If you spend long enough at the bar, the metallic surface can give off a scent that's a little like how your skin smells after visiting a tanning salon.
It has a mellow vibe though, where board games are welcome, and chill music is playing. Even if it gets busy, it seems like a nice spot to take it easy. There are minimal food options though, and most are simply snack food.
The beer selection is very nice with quite a variety. Not only are they hitting on all cylinders as far as beer styles, from Pale Ales, IPAs, Stouts, Saisons, Sours, and more, but they also offer their own meads and ciders, all made by BottleHouse, and all top notch. There wasn't a thing I had that I wasn't impressed by during my visit.

Good selection of theyre brews, on tap, growlers and in bottles, they have the regular types plus types ive never personally heard of like mead and braggot! Very cool vibe great brews. Chill crowd no food but theyre cool with you bring your own food in and your allowed ti bring dogs in! Moderate to exspensive prices depending on what you get!

As others have said, this has come a long way, particularly regarding the quality of the beer. Gets a lot of traffic as there always seems to be groups of people making it a regular hang out. Most of the staff are friendly and ready to answer questions. Good to have this only a couple miles away.

This brewery has come a long way. They are brewing some of the best beers in the region. Including sours, barrel aged beers and mead. Big fruity IPAs and amazing Belgians. Can't wait to see where theses guys go next.

I live in Buffalo NY and travel to Cleveland often. Watching this brewery develop over the last 2 years has been exciting. Always something new, always creative always well done. They are starting a sour program too. Great bartenders and pinball!

I loved this small batch brewery tucked away in Cleveland Heights. A bit of a pain to get to due to the lack of freeway access big well worth making the drive. From what I understand this place started as an BOP but now only brews their own beer. I beleive they have only been open less than 2 years and their beers are great. They only brew ales but have a very tasy alternative to a pilsner in their Kolsch.
They are not a full service restaraunt but do have a small menu. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles. Nice patio, pinball machines and a stage. Definately will be going back.

Stop #414 on my world brewery tour.
Visited around 5 on a Thursday. Not much of a crowd at all. Really big place in a historic strip mall. Stage with instruments if you want to come in an play (after they vet you - per the bartender).
I had a flight and the beers were all top notch. Cream ale, rye, hefe, and coffee stout were all exceptionally well done. The price was a bit high but the beers were worth it.
Also had a really nice selection of Ohio meads in bottles which is something I rarely see.
They have a huge space in the back for brewing and a kitchen. The bartender told me the brewers are self taught. I think it would qualify as a nano as I recall it being a very small system they were brewing on.
Look forward to adding this to my Great Lakes>FatHeads Cleveland rotation.
