Poured into becker; one of the blackest beers I've ever seen. No light passes through at all. It has a medium-thin tan head out of the growler with a rough pour. Smells fresh and clean (it should be fresh, just got it filled today) malts, chocolate and coffee notes with some floral hops in the background. I'm excited to try this; IBA/black IPA/cascadian ales are one of my favorite styles, especially because they're a truly American style. Taste is spot on, perfect for what I'd want from this style. Creamy and smooth (probably on nitro) with coffee and baking chocolate flavors along with slight dark bready malts smashing headlong into bitter hops at the end leaving you begging for another sip. Absolutely delicious.
