This is essentially a craft beer sports bar, and there's nothing wrong with that. TVs everywhere, a decent place to grab a beer and watch the game. Service is table-side or you can sit at the bar. Workers constantly roam and will ask you if you want another beer when you've got a 1/4 glass left, which can be annoying, or really great.
Selection is good. They've got something for everyone on tap, they get rarities and do events for these kegs and try to get everything they can from their distribution. I can typically go in and get something good on tap. They have bottles of basically everything you can get at a good beer store.
The problem with this place is it's a franchise and they are out to make money, not promote beer. I can't get out of this place drinking 2 beers for under $12+ tip. The only way you can expect to spend <$6 a pint (pint, not glass) is to go on college night or during happy hour. I can't get a swamp head pint for <$5. When they get the special kegs (FBS, Hopslam, etc) you're looking at sometimes $8 a SNIFTER! Insanely expensive prices, everything that is wrong with craft beer nowadays.

New place in town. Meh. Expanding too quick and staff didn’t know the difference between Hol Head Red and West Coast IPA. Asked for a CCB snifter and they still brought a pint glass. Lots of TVs. Meh. Decent selection. Cigar City stuff is nice. Better places to go.
These guys have worked the kinks out it seems and get some solid beers. Wootstout bottles last time I went, and always a huge selection of one-off and special release Cigar City stuff. Staff is a bit better, but it does get very crowded at times. Not a lot of room to stand if you don't have a seat. Overall worth going to.

Brass Tap (Gainesville) is one of the better "chain" Craft Beer establishments I've come across. The location (Archer Road) is convenient to shopping, food, etc. They allow and encourage food from nearby establishments and allow delivery. If you're not into franchised "craft beer" joints, you probably won't love Brass Tap. It definitely doesn't cater to the craft beer "Elitist(s)" out there.
Beer selection is very good. Lots of bottles to choose from if there isn't anything on Tap that fits your fancy.
Service is very good. There are a couple relatively knowledgable server/bartenders who don't over complicate things. Always very friendly service, and a staff which is more suitable for this type of establishment (see my review of the Gainesville World of Beer).
Atmosphere is laid back most of the time. Like any other bar in a College town on a Friday evening, or Saturday afternoon/evening it can get a bit "bro-ish" but I've never experienced levels of brodom that I would consider offensive. Truthfully, I've always been surprised at the lack of a "crowd" when I've gone.
If you're located on the west-side of campus or in the Archer Road corridor this is your best bet outside of SwampHead's Tap Room which is located just around the corner.
