A 330ml bottle with a BB of Nov 2013, so it's a bit out of date. Picked up a while back from Beeritz. Hopefully still in good nick. The artwork seems to be a subtle nod to the monastic origins of this beer style....
Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned. A hazy golden hue with some chunky floating sediment and intense carbonation. Produces a vast head of fluffy white foam with excellent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of very fruity yeast with hints of banana, green apples, bubblegum, mild clove, spice, grass/hay and earthiness. A whiff of solventy booze in the background. Pretty good.
Tastes of fruity yeast esters with a very dry finish. Notes of green apples, banana, bubblegum, mild clove, spice, grass/hay, earthy yeast and faint stewed leaves. Highly attenuated, with a touch of alcohol in the background. A delicate herbal bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Somewhat astringent, followed by an aftertaste of fruity yeast, tart apples, earthiness and hay.
Rather nice, particularly for the strength. I would expect the Belgian equivalent to be closer to 6-7%. Looks superb, with a huge head and plentiful carbonation. The aroma and flavour are dominated by fruity yeast notes and earthiness, along with a twinge of booze. Lovely body. Well-crafted and goes down a treat; a solid stab at a blonde abbey beer. Age doesn't seem to have done any harm. Probably a one-off, but worth sampling if you come across it.

Had it fresh at the brewery. Great pop modern art label.
Golden color that got pretty much like milk at the last pour.
Lactic and a bit funky aroma with notes of vanilla and pineapple.
Flavor of floral hops, Belgian yeast, lactic acid and pineapples. Mild dry and bitter aftertaste.
Light to medium body with low carbonation.
Interesting Saison given the focus on pineapple and lots of lactic sensations.
