A 330ml bottle with a BB of May 2013. Picked up recently from Trembling Madness in York. I've heard frequent reference to this brewery in recent months, so it's good to finally try one of their brews. The label is neat.

Poured into a straight pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A hazy golden hue with ultra-fine sediment and light carbonation. Produces a huge head of creamy white foam with decent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Nice lacing. Aroma of juicy hops with notes of orange peel, lime, citrus, melon, peppery spice and grass/hay. This is underpinned by hints of light malt and earthy yeast. Delicious.

Tastes of fruity aroma hops with a crisp bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, orange peel, lime, citrus, pepper, grass/hay, earthy yeast, mild caramel malt and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, with a dry, spicy bitterness upon swallowing. A slightly harsh leafy character and a faint hint of solventy booze lurk in the background. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, but undercarbonated. The body is rather thin and insubstantial. Somewhat astringent, with an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, fruitiness and earthy yeast.

Nice - a ton of hop notes assault the palate. Looks alright, and the aroma is fantastic. Flavour is good, though there is some mild leafiness from the hops. The watery body could be better - more carbonation and texture needed. A solid effort with a big character. Worth sampling if you come across it.

Poured from a 330ml bottle into a Fullers snifter glass.

Pours a hazy but pale golden colour with a decent white head.

Smells quite fruity and fresh.

Tastes lovely and hoppy, fruity merging on citrus and floral hops. Crisp light malts backing it all up well and adding some nice balance.

Overall a quite lovely and simple pale ale.
