Born and raised in the Old North State, this beer is a collaboration between the floral English and the citrusy American style IPA. Underneath a white frothy head, these plentiful hop flavors balance on the see-saw of a medium-bodied malty backbone. It all comes together and leaves you with a subdued lingering bitterness, so raise a toast to North Carolina, the land of the Long Leaf Pine!

12 ounce can in an IPA glass.
Colorful copper-orange, bright and translucent. Long standing cap, light tan colored, decent amount of splash lacing.
Strong pine and citrus hop aromas with a touch of medicinal air and caramel malt.
Hop bitterness kills the flavors, whatever they are.
Medium body , pined up, some malt base, then it’s all trampled by bitterness overkill.
Well, it looks and smells good.

On tap at the AMB taproom in Boone. Have had it in cans a few years ago, and loved it. good golden color, nice head, beautiful piney woods aromas, and a good complex ipa with my ideal ipa kind of experience, for this piney type. gonna grab another sixer, even if they are owned by AB iNBev, it's a great beer.

Picked up a 12 oz single as part of a mixed sixer from the Ingles cooler on Spartanburg Highway 1-20-22 for $1.83. Enjoy by 2-14-22; consumed 4-19-22. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured gold with a very nice long lasting white head.
Nose has a small amount of floral and citrus emanating from it.
Taste is spot on American IPA. A moderate sized pale malt base that allows the pine and grapefruit to flavor the brew nicely. Finishes with a nice pine bitterness; 7/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and fairly smooth and refreshing.
Overall definitely a well executed beer that is worthy of a shot!

12 oz can from NC served in a lager glass.
Appearance. This has a slightly hazy amber colored body a good semi-durable white head.
While the somewhat floral aroma is, perhaps, relatively mild for the style the flavor is not. Instead it is bold with moderate-high bitterness that is particularly obvious in the aftertaste that loaded with notes of grapefruit and grapefruit peel.

Smells citrusy and piney.
Taste follows the nose.
Mouth feel is medium for the style
Overall a nice IPA I might order again

Poured into a shaker pint glass: color is dark gold, head is off white to light tan, presents 1 inch thick with some lacing after a few quaffs.
Smell is light toasty malt, hint of caramel, earthy hops, subtle citrus and pine.
Taste follows with mild pale malt, hint of biscuit, moderate caramel and toast, hop flavors are earthy, piney, citrus rind and pith. The balance is bitter and maybe a touch much.
Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, light sweetness, then lingering light bitterness.
Overall a good blend of the english/american styles, great to pickup amidst the lighter, sweeter, citrusy ipa trends.

I tried this beer at the Cabarrus Country Club whilst there for my Bestie's member guest golf outing. The beer poured a clear golden with a white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had a little citrus, a little floral and a little hoppy. There is a faint maltiness that adds citrus to the scent. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with fruit and hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Nearly clear golden pour with minimal head. Smells the IPA hoppy smell and the taste follows. Slightly bitter mouthfeel and aftertaste. A good example of an IPA, just not a great one.
