Modest head production and retention. Attractive body, very dark brown bordering on black.
Strong pumpkin and spice notes on the nose. There's a slight chocolatey roastiness in the background, but it's very much second fiddle to the pumpkin spice. Along with a sweet doughy note, completely blind I don't know that I would pick out that this is a porter.
Quite dry on the palate, completely lacking any sweetness from the nose. The pumpkin spice doesn't come through particularly well; the pumpkin itself shows on the back half. It's a dry porter with dry spices added.
There's nothing offensive about this beer, but it's thoroughly unremarkable.

Dark brown color slight coffee and pumpkin spice smell and taste. Poured from bottle. Tan head quickly fades. Very smooth drink ability. Overall a good example of a pumpkin porter.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle 2018 batch. Sampled on September 15, 2018.
It has a dark brown appearance with a long-lasting light tan colored head. Opaque.
The aroma expresses a notable ginger and nutmeg spicy character with any roasted dark malts being buried underneath. Maybe a hint of vanilla.
The body falls into the light to medium range.
The spicy bitterness explodes in the taste with a far less sweet malt flavor. Ends with a big ginger-like bite.

Poured from a bottle.
Look is nice, dark brown with tan head.
Smells of pumpkin pie spice and dark roasted malt. A slight vegetable aroma that could be pumpkin, but mostly cinnamon, nutmeg and clove.
Taste is similar, brown caramel and black roasted malts with some spice. Some pumpkin flavor with a dry cinnamon finish.
Feel is ok, light body with a lingering dryness.
Overall it's pretty good. A nice seasonal beer with unique flavors but it's not my favorite pumpkin beer, nor my favorite porter.

Opaque mahogany colored liquid gives way to a low head of sizzly bubbles that boil away quickly. Low nose of cocoa and spice, not sign of pumpkin. Flavors of faint cocoa, overly punctuated with way too much nutmeg, and a hint of clove. Not much in the way of rounded out porter flavors, and the "pumpkin" is mainly a preponderance of spice. Slick and watery mouthfeel, nearly no body at all. I don't follow why the ratings are as high as they are for this one.

Pours opaque, black in color, with minimal head. Taste is molasses, cinnamon, clove, and other pumpkin spices. Moderately sweet. Really impressed with this pumpkin porter. Really well done. Tastes like both beer and pumpkin. Really well balanced. Will have to look for this again.
