Nice solid classic coffee stout. Pours black but is a bit thin for a stout. Strong Coffee flavor with some malt sweetness. A sort of faint Molasses taste and a late hop punch in there. Mild and balanced. Very drinkable stout.

I love this beer! Try the Black and Tan if you go by the brewery. It's the best the best example of a B&T I have ever had. I work for the company they get their coffee from. They really do a great job bring out the complex flavors of all the malt, coffee and HOPS.

Nice looking two fingered pour. Roasted malt and slight coffee nose. Good balance of malt and coffee, all coffee flavor without the typical bitterness.

Served really cold, but was a lot better once it had a few minu tea to warm up.

Have only tried this and their American Ale and have been pleased with both.

On tap at The Engine Room. Pours a pitch black color with a thin layer of head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and earth. The taste is much like the aroma. Dark chocolate, earth, coffee and some roasted malts. Coffee and some charcoal towards the finish. Thin mouthfeel with lots of carbonation. Not too much alcohol presence. Overall, pretty decent Coffee Stout I'd grab again.

Getting more chocolate and coconut than coffee and more porter than stout. Light bodied. It's really mediocre.

One of my favorite coffee stouts, even better that it's from a great local brewery!

Appearance: Arrives fudge brown with a rather modest head; just a few strands of lace

Smell: Overwhelms with coffee and char

Taste: Quite a bit of char, up front, with the coffee building and dominating through the finish; espresso-like and slightly fruity with a bitter, roasty finish

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a really spritzy carbonated feel

Overall: I am a bit disappointed in this beer as the mouthfeel didn't go with the style and the coffee was too dominant

Pours a dark brown with a coffee colored head that does not trail the glass. The smell was full of coffee and espresso but had some nice hop characters underneath. The taste was nice with the coffee and sweetness from the malt coming in big at first and then slowly toning down to a pretty refreshing finish. A little thin for a stout but very tasty.

Too carbonated. Not enough coffee comes through in nose or taste

This beer is a deep, dark color. The taste has a wonderful coffee flavor, and for me, is not too heavy on hops. The finish is nice and smooth, not too bitter. Pours a nice, frothy head, with good lacing on the glass. I had this on tap at the brewery on several occasions during their tasting hours.

I've never before had a beer taste like bleach, until this one.

Growler straight from the tap poured into snifter.

The coffee stout is what I believe to be the initial flagship brew so I was excited to try it.

Appearance perfect, pours with medium thickness, black and fully opaque, 1-2 inch head that lingers for about 30 seconds leaving a little lacing behind

Aroma great instantly getting roasted coffee, chocolate, mild sweet malt notes

Taste is more or less how it smells: fantastic. Great consistency with medium carbonation and thickness with very little stickiness left behind on the palate. ABV very low and completely hidden. Notes of roasted coffee, chocolate, cola, and has a sweetness probably from lactose addition?

Overall if you have a chance to try this beer, you should.

Smooth and not bitter. It's rich and satisfying. It's lighter than an Imperial Russian Stout and the flavor is enjoyable. Unlike a novelty beer that overshoots its goal, this coffee stout is real beer, not a coffee liquor.
