Pours clear, dark brown in color with minimal head. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, and a good dose of cocoa. The beer does not have the most in your face coffee punch that I have had in a beer. It is much more balanced and the chocolate notes get equal time. This may be a deterrent for some, but I found it to be really enjoyable. If I wanted this style, I would revisit this beer.

Had this beer on tap on many occasions, with a few of them at the brewery itself. Pours inky black with a tan head. Big aroma of coffee and roasted malts. A fantastic flavor to pair it all together. The biggest notes are obviously the coffee (which comes from Willoughby's) and then the roasted malts which give it that sweet backbone combined with molasses. It feels heavier than 6% so you can actually sip this one and enjoy it. It's a big little beer, so to speak. One of the best coming out of Thimble Island, along with Ghost Island and MAD.

Nice solid classic coffee stout. Pours black but is a bit thin for a stout. Strong Coffee flavor with some malt sweetness. A sort of faint Molasses taste and a late hop punch in there. Mild and balanced. Very drinkable stout.

I love this beer! Try the Black and Tan if you go by the brewery. It's the best the best example of a B&T I have ever had. I work for the company they get their coffee from. They really do a great job bring out the complex flavors of all the malt, coffee and HOPS.

this is an all around tasty and easily quaffable stout. It is on the lighter side IMHO and it works. nice roasted oatmeal flavors. decent head. light on the coffee. it has a nice semisweet flavor with a drying finish.

well done and have already bought a second sixer. local and fresh!

I have had a beer or two from a store from thimble and may have gotten old ones so I didn't really seek out. I however went to an event at the brewery and was fully impressed with the entire line up and gave them another chance and have not been disappointed since.
