A 330ml bottle with a BB of Feb 2014. Picked up the other day from Trembling Madness in York. The label calls it a hoppy blonde. Comes in a fancy little bottle that looks like a miniature champagne bottle...
Poured into a Delirium chalice. Bottle conditioned. A very hazy amber hue with fine sediment and medium carbonation. Yields a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a surface layer. Some lacing. Aroma of bright, fruity hops with hints of lime/lemon, citrus, mild white grape, melon, grass, subtle malt and earthy yeast. The fruit character smells quite honey-like. Fantastic.
Tastes of sharp, fruity hops with a dry, bitter finish. Notes of lime/lemon, citrus, white grape, mild melon, grass/hay, peppery noble hops, caramel malt, earthy yeast and stewed hops. Well-attenuated, with a faint spiciness and a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, dry and tingly, with soft carbonation and good body for the style. Mild hop oils on the palate. Somewhat astringent, followed by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, earthy yeast and mild citrus.
Tasty - a very nice pale ale. Looks good, with the cloudiness you might expect from a naturally bottled beer. The aroma and flavour are dominated by fruity hop notes and earthy yeast, which balance out well. Lovely body. A quality effort that goes down all too easily; well worth sampling if you come across it.
