This was poured into an English pint glass.
The appearance was a fairly thick dark brown close to black color. Thin layer of off white foamy head slid off fairly quick. Mild lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee beans, ash/char, dark chocolate, dark toast and some vanilla sweetness.
The flavor seemed to lean slightly towards the sweet side. Some roastiness tries to balance, but still the sweetness takes the lead mostly through the entire beer. Not much of any aftertaste but what was there seemed to be somewhat of a coffee bean/grounds like quality.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a touch under. Mostly pretty good sessionability to this one. Carbonation felt good. Some roasty grip but not too much. Modest finish of sweet coffee, dark chocolate and dark toast.
Overall, good enough 'coffee porter' I could come back to it.

tons of coffee and vanilla, just wish they would make an imperial version to help with the mouthfeel (and go ahead and barrel age it while your at it) Like this one alot though.

Received as ane xtra in a trade and forgotten about in my cellar. Bottled on 11/17/16...soooo hah.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown nearly black with a good one finger mocha head that fades to leave thin lacing and a creamy blanket.

S - Aromas of surprisingly nice coffee, very very faint roast malts, light light metallic notes.

T - Taste is similar to the nose. Mellow chocolate and roasted malts. The coffee is a bit older (to be expected) but still pleasantly bitter with a nice lightly fruity note. Faint nuttiness. Finish is a bit metallic.

M - Mouthfeel is a bit on the thinner side, again though to be expected due to age.

O - Overall this was a rather solid porter. I'm sure it would have been much better when it was fresh but even a year old it was decent enough.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep brown, finger tan head fades quickly leaving a little soapy lacing. Roasted malt aroma, coffee. Nice tasting porter, plenty roastiness, mild bitter coffee, little nuttiness in there. Medium semi-slick feel.

This one drinks a lot like a cold brewed coffee. The balance is probably a little bit off, but the flavor profile is great. Lots of roasted malt and coffee.

this was easily my favorite beer we had here at community. a great use of coffee in it, and nice and dry as porters go. looks almost like a nitro pour at the brewery, but it isnt from what i can tall. sturdy inch of lighter brown head on a matte dark brown body. fresh brewed drip coffee aroma, no acidity or burn, all earth and roast. the base porter is excellent too, sort of fuller bodied and creamy, definitely with some yeast flavor hanging out, and a balancing bitter dark cocoa property. with the coffee, the combination is sensational, smooth and flavorful, really pretty robust on it, its there from start to finish, moving from sweet and nutty to charred and bitter. the chocolate malt works in and out too, providing depth and nuance, as well as a little needed sweetness in the middle, like a little squirt of chocolate syrup into a cup of joe. i like the body and how carbonated it is, feels very lively for a beer so dark and deep. especially dry in the finish, no malt remains after the swallow, only the flavor of the coffee. i liked all the beers we had at this amazing brewery, but this was my favorite.

Dark brown body with a quarter inch of filmy beige head. The expected roast and coffee character in both the nose and flavor. Simple and straightforward. A bit light in body. Could be bolder and more assertive.
