Cloudy golden pour with a small white head. Aroma is of grass and grain. Flavor follows the nose with a big grainy taste upfront backed by a nice grassy bitterness. Medium body also has a bit of yeast and lemon. Not as light as a typical pilsner but also a little more flavorful.

A: Pours a beautifully clear golden/yellow color. A dense, billowing whit head rises to over two fingers. Great retention and lace.
S: A big assertive grassy hop aroma up front. Slightly lagerish like yeast that is a bit mineral like. Biscuit malts and a hint of sweetness lingers.
T: Again, up front is a big green, grassy hop bite. A light mineral like quality and a honey like sweetness. A bit of bitterness lingers. Simple, but enjoyable.
M/D: A light body and crisp carbonation. Clean, crisp, but smooth at the same time, and refreshing. Easy and enjoyable to drink. I can, and will put a few away today.
A nice simple hoppy Pilsener with more of a green grassy character than most. Which I enjoy. Something I will be picking more up when I get a chance.

12 oz. bottle poured into pilsener
(numbers printed on bottle but I can't figure them)
L: gold ... definitely a bit darker than yellow; 100% clear and tons of bubbles flying up the column, a thick stream of them right up the middle of the glass; it took a hard pour to render a solid head, which percolates real late in a super cool way -- produced a thick 1-inch-plus head of super stick foam that is lacing on the way down from the thick collar of foam it keeps constantly. that foam is ULTRA-white. perfect!
S: grass ... real green ... also salty, onion, steak and more green grass -- it's a noble-hop fest. cold out of the bottle, it smells much like marijuana, for lack of a better descriptor. as it warms, the salt and onion take over, but it's always got a nice green-grassy hop note. no malt presence at all.
T: slightly medicinal layer over grass, onion and salt ... the 6.1% ABV might be showing up here, because it does have a bit of a cleaned out taste, like a drop of rubbing alcohol; but it's not so juiced up with hooch that you can't taste, really, what comes off as steak and onions with a bunch of cilantro ... again, no malt presence, or at least none that I can recognize (no cracker, no bready malt, no biscuits) -- there is a pinch of sweetness, but it seems more rice-maize-corn-like than barley.
F: very nice ... great carbonation balanced by a solid weight; it might get a pinch flat/watery at the end, but that also might be me.
O: good brew, definitely on the hoppy, more Americanized side of the pilsener aisle; if what I'm reading is correct, there's only noble and German hops used in this brew, so it's not Americanized with the U.S. hop family, but Community uses Hallertau Blanc in it, which might be adding some of that onion/salt/steak stuff to it.
at 6.1% ABV, it's also on the more alcoholic side of the pilsener family. again ... Americanized. so if what you want is that classic mix of bread malt and spice hops, this ain't it. this is much more hop-centric with noticeably more alcohol.
but good. and depending on your taste buds, it might be just about perfect ... for me, it's probably a one-off.

This pours out a clear gold color with a frothy, airy head. Aroma is very nice--quite hoppy, smelling like a good German pils. Flavor is rather aggressively bitter, though, with the malt well-hidden beneath the hops. Hop flavor does taste appropriate but this isn't a good easy drinking pils. Body is a little heavy for the style also.
Tasty enough beer, but not what I look for in a pils.
