This place is a God send. I am from Southern California and we have some neat places up and down the coast and some inland, but this one takes the cake. I walked in a the first thing I did was smile. It felt, warm and invited. So, I went to wash my hands and the bathrooms, smelled good, were clean and huge. Then I sat down and before my eyes were a plethora of beers that I either loved, longed for or heard tons of hype about. I was a bit taken back for a minute with the beers, then I was offered a menu and it was like Christmas morning when i asked my parents for a NES and lo and behold I opened my gift and there it was. not a who lot of California beer, but for me, who cares? I am from Cali and can get Cali beer. I got a Bell's two hearted and there open faced brisket sandwich. Both were amazing and not in the way that dang this is good, in the way that holy crap, i wish I could eat/drink something of this magnitude of awesomeness everyday! The waitress/beer girl/bar tender Hali (Arizona is what I called her and I don't know if the spelling is right), was knowledgeable, super friendly and all around awesome. Then Samson whom Manages the joint sat down, he was just as excited about the place as me and he works here on a daily basis, you can't ask anymore than that out of an employee. He is the dream employee, he works hard and loves his job. He sat down and we talked through out the day about beers and how much California needs a place like this, good, food, good beer and good times. The rest of the staff was awesome as well. Jodie the bar manager was awesome as well. Also, I don't know who hired these people but all of them had great attitudes very clean, knowledgeable and for anyone single out there, good looking. So, in review, great food, simple and tasty menu. Great beer 30 taps (non of which are BMC minus PBR, but come on, you know you'll drink PBR) and 250 give or take of awesome bottle beers. For the guys who just like to drink, they have 24oz Bud and stuff to. Cheap prices. I had three tickets and all of them cost me $100 or so. This includes, 10 beers (two hearted, wake n' bake, lion stout, pork slap, hop karma, 2x stout, blueberry cobbler, hopslam, curieux and another stout I can't remember), one open face sandwich and grits, 2 pulled pork, one order of fried pickles, two orders of red beans and rice, a military personals check and a couple of beers I bought for people. All for $100, I mean, come on! So, this place gets my highest honor. I would make it 6's if I could. If you are ever in NC, please do yourself a favor and find yourself a Mac's Speed shop. I can't say it will be as awesome as the Fayetteville location was, but you'll have a good time. Also, they had HopSlam, so, yeah, they have rad beer. I don't know if any of the ups at this company will see this but please reward your staff and crew, thank them and get at me with info on how I can franchise this in CA or TN. This place is heaven and a gold mine all rolled into one! A++ rating for sure.

I've been to Mac's a few times in the last few weeks. It's becoming one of my favorite places in Fayetteville to have a meal and a beer.
It's pretty easy to get a seat if you're not part of the Friday night crowd, and while it IS a bar and there ARE televisions all over the place (and they ARE tuned to some macho nonsense) you can find seats where there isn't a screen constantly in your face. +1 for that.
Service is prompt and usually finds that balance where they are attentive without getting in the way. Servers, bartenders, bussers, hosts have all been friendly and personable; generally good at reading people. I tend to like being left alone with my meal, and they got that; I also saw them strike up conversations with more social patrons.
The food is pretty standard bar fare: Sandwiches, burgers, grilled stuffs, a house soup and chili. It's all been good so far, though I recommend their BLT (which is not shy about any of the three ingredients) and the soup. Meals are well-portioned, prices to the high end of reasonable - for a meal and a craft beer, expect to spend $15+tip.
Beer selection is excellent, and they have a "beer club" which I've considered joining. Hundreds of selections, ranging the gamut from light to dark and sweet to bitter. Local NC breweries are well represented and they have a separate section of the menu for high gravity beers. Most of the beer selections are bottled and kept in a cooler behind the bar, so no worries about tap maintenance issues. If you can see it, you can order it.
If you find yourself unfortunate enough to be in Fayetteville, Mac's is one place that will help take the edge off.
