Nice dark coloring. Has smooth stout taste with a hint of cherries. This stout immediately overflows with notes of dark, sweet cherry, dark chocolate and fleeting notes of almond. The flavor is full with dark malt and cherry but very quickly you find yourself in the embrace of an intense dark chocolate finish.

On Nitro at the brewery.

A: Pours a dark black color. A large tan head rises to over two fingers, and never settles. Spiderweb lace is left behind. This has that fake nitro look to it, that a lot of people enjoy.
S: Milk chocolate, light roasted malts. A bit of cherry tartness.
T: Follows the nose. Milk chocolate, roasted malts, and a tartness from the cherries. The tartness is a bit more prevalent here.
M/D: That fake, pseudo mouthfeel I get with all nitro pours. Just thin, and artificial to me. Not hard to drink. I can put back a few if the occasion called.

I think this would shine if it was not on Nitro. Regular CO2, or cask would make this excellent. As is, like all nitro beers, I think the dispensing method mutes everything that could be good.

Serving type: nitro-tap
