Poured out a sexy dirty blonde color and is extremely cloudy, contains mild carbonation and is topped off with a nice thick head that quickly subsides to create a thin layer of bubbles. This beer is a proud owner of some very good lacing… the aroma is light over all, hints a citrus and berry fruits are present, some grass and wheat come through just not as strong. Its light and crisp on the tongue, faintly tart throughout, but very pleasing. It is sweet overall and the flavors are a bit mild, some lemon and orange zest comes through, some grass flavors but not much else. It as a light mouth feel and goes down very well, very smooth. This is a very refreshing beer.

Picked up this afternoon at Whole Foods... Pours a very hazed glowing yellow... nice fluffy white head...

Nose is more banana than anything else, very light clovey phenol profile. bready maltiness is also very light but what malt there is, magnifies the banana esters.

Very traditional flavors... more balanced toward the esters, but a minor bit of clove and with warmth some lemon comes out... Like a "Hefe-Lite".

Good body and carbonation...

This is a pretty good hefe, but not on the same scale as Paulaner or Weihenstephaner.

Surprised I have not reviewed this one yet..

Poured into a Celebrator pokal. Pours a hazy, light yellowish golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and lots of lacing. Aroma of wheat, citrus and sour fruit. Flavor is light wheat, tart lemon and a hint of banana. Finishes dry and tart, almost vinous. Light bodied as appropriate for the style. An interesting take on a hefeweizen, with a much more pronounced sourness to the finish. The other flavors are pleasant, but quite light and are overwhelmed by the acetic component. This seems closer in tartness to a Berliner weissbier than a hefeweizen.

Pours a pale orange-amber brown, quite hazy, head recedes quite quickly, leaves some alright lacing.

Aroma has some citrus lemon notes, a strong under-ripe banana. Some fresh grassiness, quite light. wheat and yeast come through.

Taste has a chewy, light bubblegum, banana that is again quite underripe, some mild clove spice but overall quite light and fresh. A hit of lemon and fresh grass/herbs. Mouthfeel is really light, with a carbonation that has a bite initially, dieing later. Finish tends more toward vegetal, a tartness also comes across strongly. After taste is chewy, and crisp.

This is very light, it comes across with a fair bit of lager-type aspects, very light in body for a hefe. I would definitely recommend other hefes over this. Slightly watery, and the underripe banana character is a bit off-putting.

500 ml bottle, bought in a bilologic goods shops. Ingredients are water, wheat, barley, hops nad yeast, all organically grown. Poured into a weizen glass.
Much smaller head than the one I was expecting, maybe two fingers in height, white in colour and very froathy in texture. Not much of a retention and no lacing left behind. Average activity in the glass. Colour is very pale yellow, slighty hazy but transparent.
Aroma of citrus fruits mostly, some subtle banana aromas, some clove and yeast. All those combined, give this beer a very nice aroma.
Taste is bubblegum, but again very subtle, also sort of grape-y, as it tastes quite like a white wine. It has a citrus sourness, which makes it very drinkable and refreshing.
Quite carbonated, leaves your palate slighty dry and on the body is medium thin.
Overall, "refreshing" it's the word that describes it best. From the pale look, to the smell, to the light citrus sourness, points on you to drink it on hot summer day, and you won't disappointed when you do.

Pours hazy yellow with a foamy head No real retention, no lace.

Sweet grain an wheat and yeast notes. No fruit, clove, banana?

This drinks like an American wheat. Yeast and sweet wheat up front, some husk bitterness and a lemon-like tartness at the end. Finishes fairly clean.

Lighter bodied. Good carbonation.

I was a bit disappointed. An ok brew, but not what I want in a German hefe.

A: The beer is hazy light yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that quickly died down and left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface..
S: There are light aromas of wheat in the nose along with some hints of banana and lemon.
T: The taste is similar to the smell with lots of wheat flavors along with subtle hints of banana and citrus.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate with a slight amount of chewiness and a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Although it’s not quite as flavorful as some other hefeweizens, this beer is very easy to drink. It feels a little chewier compared to other unfiltered wheat beers.

500 ml bottle poured into hefe glass

A: Poured in the traditional hefeweizen manner but yields surprisingly little head, cloudy yellow/gold color that tries to look orange

S: Very mild, actually smells mostly like yeast and mild alcohol, but not the normal banana aroma

T: Delicious and a vast improvement over the aroma, definitely a sweet beer, although not in a cloying way, just a slight sweetness that really works well, the hops never really provide much flavor, just the typical clean slightly spicy flavor of german hops, the yeast doesn't have a real heavy clove and banana flavor of the typical hefeweizen, instead the yeast seems like a blend between a hefe and a wit, tart and a tad spicy when combined with the hops, very drinkable

M: Good mouthfeel, very light feeling, carbonation doesn't feel that high though so it isn't overpowering

O: One of the better hefeweizens I've had in a while, a little different, but delicious, light and slightly citric, not heavy

16oz bottle, pours a cloudy pale peach-yellow color with a huge rocky white head that holds incredible retention, but doesn't leave much for lacing on the glass. Aromas are typical for the style - banana, clove, wheat, hefeweizen yeast, and some bubble gum. Tastes seem a bit mild with notes of bubble gum, banana, wheat, clove, lemon. Mouth-feel is creamy and exceptionally smooth, while being medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes a tad dry leaving the palate craving another sip. Even though the flavors seem to be a bit lacking, it's smooth and very drinkable. It was worth the try, but there are better offerings in this style category.

Pours a beautiful, hazy golden color with fluffy white head. The smell is muted, but definitely a hefe-weizen: lemon peel and spices. Tastes of sour lemon, a hint of sweet banana bread, and clove. Tastes very fresh and light, with the typical high carbonation of this style. As it warms, I notice, it gets more commplex. The nose is definitely banana bread. The sourness and earthy yeasts become more pronounced, while the bready sweetness remains. Very refreshing. Very unique hefeweizen. Great summer beer!

Super hazy pale yellow color (can't see through the beer at all) with a big bright white crystal head. Lots of banana bread and clove on the nose with notes of bubblegum and an earthy yeast presence.

An incredibly strange beer. Super unique. Sweet fruit, banana and bubble gum up front (to the point where you think it might be cloying) but the earthy yeast comes in and creates a bittering effect to balance things out. The beer lightens up and snaps into a nice dry finish clearing all flavors making balance irrelevant. The beer presents the flavors it wants to and then fades into a refreshing sip. Medium in body and refreshing. Very unique. A little too much banana for me but a very very very good beer overall.

Little head and a flat sour flavor. Not much on the nose, not much on the tongue, and leaves a chalky aftertaste. I had to search for the flavor in this one. I may not know this type of beer, (or it very well may have been a bad bottle), but it left me wanting.

Drinkable but not memorable.

(I'll give it a second chance someday, like I said, maybe it was a bad bottle).

A: 4 fingers of rich, meringue like head. Foggy yellow gold in color. Nice broad lacing.

S: Lemons and muted wheat. A bit tangy/sour.

T: Starts out a little sour, but gently mutes itself into a really subtle lemon meringue, not tart or bitter or anything at all. As if the flavor just evaporates into nothingness. Really peculiar.

M: Nice medium body with foamy rich tongue-exfoliating bubbles ;) The mouth feel on this brew is something truly unique. It's the first beer I've tried that actually cleans up after itself... a palate cleanser.

O: This is a fantastic, clean Hefeweizen. Great for those who want to dive into the German beer world without getting their hands too dirty. Somehow you feel cleaner afterwards...

A- Pearlescent, hazy straw yellow color, with a fine-bubbled white head.

S- Soap. That's it. What a disappointment.

T- Thin, watery wheat malt flavor which simply disappears on the finish. As in, poof, gone.

M, D- Super-light, watery chalkiness. At least the CO2 was in balance.

A very poor representation of the style, especially in light of the competition. Try this next to the stunning Schneider Edel-Weisse or Weihenstephaner and see.

Poured a cloudy light gold and produced a creamy white head about one and a half finger high. It dissipates within five minutes and leaves nice lacing.
Hardly any smell. Maybe some citrus fruit.
Tasting the beer, the front is a slight banana/yeast mixture. In the middle the wheat flavors are dominant, while the end is again is test and sow citrus.
Overall a very light beer, with shallow flavors, but that maybe was done intentional. Therefore I do not want to rate this beer to low. It was quite interesting, but certainly not what I am used to of a german Hefeweizen.

Off the bat, pours a beautiful cloudy gold with a gentle half finger of white head that never disappears. So perfectly smooth and white it looks fake, like cartoon toothpaste or something.

Smells like bananas and cloves and a little bit of lemon and something like bubble gum. Standard Hefe, but very forward and with a second level in the back. Very solid.

All the yeasty goodness is there with it's fruit and spice from the nose. Sitting on top of a dry cracker like wheat malt background. A little lemon tartness, and a tickle of noble hops add some herbal and earthy suggestions. Once again, standard Hefe. Very clean, very solid.

Mouthfeel is pretty normal. nothing spectacular but it doesn't ruin the show. Good body for a wheat beer. Not too heavy like some, not too watery like some Belgian wits. Good carbonation keeps that head fueled the whole time.

Overall quite good. Everything you want in a hefe-weizen plus it's organic.

Bottle purchased at Karstadt in Darmstadt, Hessen (Germany)

Pours a very hazy, murky lemon gold. A full head with perfect lace, this is a mighty beautiful beer.

A mild, though very nice nose. Pepper, clove, bread yeasts, and a faint marijuana aroma.

Despite the pepper in the nose, I get very little spice in the mouth. Orange, citrus, and mild breads are all present. The mouthfeel is a little over carbonated at first, but then the bubbles fade surprisingly quickly, and the beer ends a little watery.

Overall a well balanced beer, finely made, and very enjoyable to drink. The flavors, though a little mild, blend together very nicely for a finely crafted hefe.

Poured into a pint glass.

A: Dull gold and hazy, and light toward the top; Hazy enough that I can’t see my fingers on the other side of the glass. Pours a thin, rocky head that fades fast, with very little lacing, though the carbonation is certainly there.

S: Orange, faint lemon, with a yeasty character, very much what a weizen should be.

T: The same fruits as the nose with a spicy (coriander) character that lends it a nice definition, with less yeast than I thought there would be from the nose, and a surprising amount of carbonation on the tongue.

MF: Very tingly with carbonation, close to soda-like, and not too thick. This beer is fantastic for summer drinking; it has a low ABV and a refreshing bounciness on the palate.

O: A fairly disappointing pour with its short-lived head, but a very relaxing beer. It’s thoroughly enjoyable, and my ecological college-minded side especially likes its organic certification.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Look – pale golden color, somewhat hazy looking, with about half a finger’s worth of off-white colored foam that dissipates somewhat quickly.

Smell – interesting smell, as with most of their beers (probably due to the “organic” ingredients. It definitely has a Bavarian style to the aroma, which is hard to identify, but it’s kinda like a gluwein.

Taste – pretty sharp and bitter from the hops straight out of the gate. The bitterness hit an acme a little bit after the middle of the tasting, and then mellows out some. The actual taste of the hops isn’t there, just the bitterness. I can’t really taste the wheat in this one, which is interesting.

Mouthfeel – pretty well balanced, but still leans more on the watery side.

Overall – not a bad brew, but an interesting/confusing taste for a Hefe.

500ml Bottle

Appearance – Hazy dark yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is a below average amount of carbonation showing and there is some fairly good lacing. The head lasted for around 5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - wheat, bananas, lemons, oranges

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an above average amount of carbonation. I can taste wheat mixed with bananas and some lemons/oranges. The banana taste is a little bit different that what I'm use to though.. it reminded me a bit of a banana candy or a banana Popsicle. There is also a little bit of a clove or coriander spiciness to it. The beer finishes with a banana and citrus aftertaste with a hint of spice.

Overall – Although the taste was a little artificial, I still really enjoyed it and found it to be highly drinkable. The taste was refreshing and it's an excellent summer beer.

Poured from a bottle into a schooner (with great care to raise the unfiltered bits off the bottom of the bottle - the endeavor was successful). No best before date on the bottle.

A - pours a very cloudy yellow with lots of initial carbonation and fluffy white head, both of which seem to dwindle away to nothing after a minute or two.

S - very little on the nose; none of the usual banana, clove or yeast offenders. All I can really find is some lemon, which is a bit odd.

T - I really get almost none of the qualities of a Hefe from this beer. No banana, no clove, no yeast or wheat. There's a slight lemon, almost like a non-peppery saison. Wondering if I've got a bad bottle here?

M - light, with soft carbonation - reminds a little of a soft-drink in terms of texture and mouth feel.

Overall my poor experience with this beer screams out to the world that there needs to be best before dates on more bottles. I'm thinking there's no way this is the right experience for a German Hefeweizen. I'll try it again and update, but this time it just wasn't any good!

A: I loved the appearance. It was poured from the bottle into a Schneider Weisse 0,5 L hefeweizen glass. Very cloudy and a nice golden orange glow with a white frothy head that quickly dissipated. This is organic and unfiltered and it showed. It gave the look of a thick, refreshing hefeweizen. Unfortunately, for me this category gets the highest rating.

S: Light and along the lines of a crisp citrus soap

T: I think a lot of people have reviewed this with the "ideal" banana & clove in mind. That's fine, but I don't think it completely ruins this beer because it doesn't punch you in the face with those classic notes. It tastes good, light citrus with just a hint of spice. No over the top b & c here. The taste was all right, the problem I had was that it just was too light of taste. I really like a strong flavor from my beer... or food for that matter

M: Watery. With the cloudy, opaque look of this stuff I was expecting (and hoping for) a little creamier or more substantial mouthfeel. I didn't really get that.

O: Really a decent beer... just don't go in expecting classic banana & clove. I had it out back in my bier garten with a brat, Stadium Mustard and potato salad. It was quite refreshing. Don't know if I'd buy it again though. It was purchased at Whole Food's in Cleveland Heights.

Smells of sweet citrus and calcium chalk

Tastes of bland wheat, hard water and lost money. Turns a little sour as it warms which is strange for the style

Mouthfeel is very light bodied and watery some light carbonation tickles the cheeks

Overall not a bad tasting beer, but definitely lacking in every department. Boring.
