Municipal IPA is is an all-Cascade ale, giving it a tangy aroma and citrusy flavor. Resiny, yet refreshing.

L: Clear copper red color with a creamy white head and no lacing on the glass. Pretty dark color for an IPA.
S: Pine, a little bit of tropical fruit and a strong nose of alcohol, especially for the abv. Some caramel malt in the background.
T: Pine and caramel malt, also has a kinda apple cider taste to it. Very odd tasting for an IPA. Restrained bitterness. Very sweet on the stomach too.
F: Medium body and carbonation.
O: This IPA has a really weird taste and doesn't remind me much of an IPA. This bottle didn't have a bottling date so it could be old.

Bottle with no visible date. DFH Tulip. Note: this is the all-crystal version; saw a description that said all-cascade.
A: WTF? Pours a beautiful hazy dark amber-red with 1 finger khaki head. Retains a thin skim of foam, and a thick ring around the edge. Truly epic lacing.
S: sweet, red cherry, prunes, dates. Is this an IPA or an Old Ale? Smells like something I'd drink in the fall. Really a hoppy malt bomb. Sherry-like aspects. How old is this bottle, I wonder?
T: tastes like it smells. Honey sweet arrival, building fruitiness and malt on the middle, with a mild bitterness on the end. That malt across the middle has layers of toasted bread, dried fruits, clover honey, and a little cocoa.
M: thick and slightly slick. Lighter side of heavy. Very restrained carbonation, almost low.
O: as a hoppy amber, this is awesome. Taking this as a beer without a category, I love this. But as an IPA this is totally wrong, or seriously out of date. Definitely will get again next time I'm in Chicago, but only if I'm in the mood for a hoppy amber (which I basically always am).

On tap. Look is a light yellow orange more like an APA. Smell doesn't deliver much for me. Taste is pleasant but not spectacular. I love my hop bombs, while this one is more restrained. It does have good hop/malt balance and some lingering bitterness. Feel is similarly restrained. Overall this might be a good session IPA, but not one that would excite me on a tap list

Pours a hazy, copper color. 1/3 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and good lacing. Smells of sweet malt, piney hops, hint of caramel malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of rye. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, piney hops, slight citrus hops, hint of caramel malt, and a hint of alcohol. Overall, good body, aroma, appearance, blend is not as smooth as I would wish, but still a decent IPA.
