Although the place is a traditional German restaurant it is run by Chinese. The food on the menu was all more or less tradiotional German and the beers were the usual beers you can find in Frankfurt, that is Binding, and Krusovice Czech lager (Hell and Dunkel).

This large ornate stone building is close to the Romer Platz and old town hall, and trams 11 and 12 pass close by, from Hauptbahnhof.

There is a small covered outdoor seating area, and the interior has two large beer hall style rooms.

Beers are from Binding with the usual Pils and better Dunkel, Schöfferhofer Weiss and I think the Krusovice Czech lager might be available too.

Good food menu - English available - with usual pork, schnitzels, sausages available at reasonable prices. We enjoyed the food here, it came in generous portions and we had good service from the waiter who also spoke a little English.

Recommended for the food, shame only Binding beers - but worth a visit and we certainly would come here again if in Frankfurt.

A nice beer hall and restaurant in an old (500 years) building in the Frankfurter Römer section of Frankfurt near the Main river. The building is made of stone with some interesting features.

Inside much of the seating is at long tables or smaller tables wedged in near the long ones. Makes for a cozy atmosphere. Fairly popular with tourists (it is in the guidebooks), and so you won't have any trouble if you speak English only.

Traditional German food, and about 6 local beers on draft (Binding-Brauerei AG, makers of Clausthaler and Schöfferhofer). Not a huge selection of beer (this is fairly typical for restaurants in the area), but all fresh. Nice hefeweizens (light and dark).

The service was very good, and very accomodating to this non-German-speaking tourist.
