Notes & Commercial Description:

Black as the moonless night, Naughty Aud Imperial Stout boasts a profusion of complexity in flavor and aroma possessed by few other styles of ale. A sturdy crosshatch of molasses, mocha and caramel malt imbued with soft, luminescent aromas of smoked bourbon and vanilla. Illustrated by the renown artist Alan Forbes, this is an unfiltered ale. Please decant slowly and enjoy responsibly.

Poured a tad over an inch head into my stout glass.First smell is coffee and dark chocolate with a hint of alcohol.First taste was sweet and bitter but not overpowering.Think Rasputin with a shot of hersheys syrup.A pleasant surprise.Would be nice to see this in a 4 or 6 pack and not just a bomber.I would definatly buy a 4 pack and help the trade circuit abroad. All in all not a bad take on a Russian Imperial. Pours a dark, flat black color with a tan foam head. Foam lacks retention left some initial sticky lacing behind. Aroma of molasses and coffee. Molasses - like flavors up front followed by alcohol and finishes with a dark roast coffee. Coffee bitterness lingers.

Overall this is a solid brew. I enjoyed this drink. Look forward to drinking it again soon. (355 characters)

the best of the several beers i had from these guys, its real solid, but not too huge to drink a bunch of at under 9% abv. its dark and chalky looking, flat black with a half inch of tan head, looks like a guinness really. the nose is deep roast, with a heavy stale coffee overtone, which i guess doesnt sound all that good, but really hits the spot on a hangover! its deeply malty, but not particularly bitter. it takes on more of an earthy soil and mineral character than a bitter one. there is a thin chocolate sweetness in there too which just adds another layer. the mouthfeel makes it for me though, so creamy and big, but quick finishing, and there is no detectable booze on it at all. easily the best beer i have had from 101 north. i could even have a few of them, which is uncommon for me with this style. (815 characters)
