Pours wonderfully thick for a porter. Really is a blackish tone of a body. Head is a thick creamy inch and a half of biscuity brown head. Head has nice retention and leaves solid waves of lace as it fades. Nose is just what the name suggests, robust. Rich and grainy with a nice amount of coffee and toasted dark malts in the aroma. With first sip I am a bit let down by how the robustness that was promised by the nose doesn't transpire completely into the flavor. It is not bad at all, but it is not as big as I was expecting. Dry and crisp for a porter. Shortly roasted malts paint the tongue with coco and even background hops. As I drink I tend to appreciate this beer more. This is a solid porter overall. I have been nothing but impressed with this brewery overall. (784 characters)

Poured from 12oz can into a miniature snifter glass.

Look: Dark brownish tint black with a tan head and good retention/lacing.

Smell: chocolate, brownie, a bit of a coffee roast. Little to no hop presence in the nose, which I prefer on a porter.

Taste: Sweet caramel. Yeasty bread, smooth roast with hints of cocoa and coffee. small licorice like bitterness in the back end with a dark fruit like raisins in the finish. Nice balance and good flavor profile.

Feel: Heavy bodied, robust! light roast bitterness lingering on my tongue.

Overall: Good robust porter. Id have it again. (587 characters)
