Batch 121 poured into Greenbush snifter
Appearance is dark like Cola. Brown around the edges with an off-white light brown head.
Smell is sweet and hoppy with a light roast. The hops blend very well with the chocolaty roast.
Taste is lightly bitter with a sweet roastiness. Also a light green olive flavor at the end
Mouth feel is good. Light medium carbonation.
Black IPAs aren't really my style but this is one of my favorites

(Served in a globe glass)
A- This beer pours a jet black body with a sticky thick tan head that is bubbly on top. There is a few microbubbles that pop out of the abyss.
S- The green herbal aroma is full of hops that blend with some graham malt notes and a slight sweetness in the finish enhances the freshness.
T- The pine woody and dank but bright hops have a slight wintergreen quality to them with a bright green hop flavor lingering without bitterness.
M- The medium mouthfeel has a gentle fizz and no alcohol heat noticed.
O- This beer has a nice dark but bright hop flavor that is not pungent or bittern and some good malt support underneath. Very tasty brew.

Thanks to GRG1313 for sharing this one at his tasting.
Batch # 3.
Pours a clear dark brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, citrus zest, and tropical fruit aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus and tropical fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is more focused on the hop aspects versus the roasty malt.

Americo's bottle. Great hoppy aroma. Very dark brown with a creamy head. Very roasty, with chocolate malt, and citrus hop finish. A touch of smoke. A story in roast, perhaps too much. All the elements of a good beer, but missing something to make it more drinkable.

Picked this up at West Lakeview Liquors. Served in a tulip.
A - Off-white foam settles to a collar, a few wisps on top, and stray specks of lace. Dark brown body with some mild transparency at the fringes.
S - Nice tropical fruit and mild citrus hops are supported by a solid backdrop of chocolate and mild caramel flavors.
T - The taste is a bit more citrus heavy, with some mango and pineapple in the periphery. Ends more chocolate-heavy, with mild roast and pleasant restrained bitterness. A bit of char comes out as the beer warms, but it's kept in restraint.
M - Pleasant, active carbonation. Medium body, with a smooth texture, and well-hidden alcohol.
D - A really enjoyable Black Double IPA, with only mild char and bitterness. Pretty close to my ideal for this style, as I love the intense hopping and pleasant chocolate flavors. Will certainly pick this one up again.
